Merry Christmas? Now?

Seriously.  The day after Hallowe'en and somebody starts playing Christmas music?  Way to suck all the meaning out of the day.  Thanks very much for that.  Four or five weeks, between Thanksgiving and Christmas isn't enough?

Thanksgiving may well be the coolest holiday of the entire year because a) it's fairly non-commercial, other than buying the food since there are no gifts allowed and b) WE GET A FOUR DAY WEEKEND.

Ease up on the Christmas overdoing it, folks.  Let's enjoy what is.  "All we have is now."

I really like Nordstrom's policy of no Christmas promotion or decorations until after Thanksgiving. Before Halloween is way too early.

That said, I've actually started my shopping already...Not specifically looking but I've bought a few bargains as I tripped over them.

I agree about Nordstrom's policy. Once again, proof that they're always a classy act. Here's hoping they can survive retail with their structure.

As for shopping for the holidays--sure. That just makes sense. You see the right thing for the right person at the right price--you gotta' get it, whether it's January and the holidays are just over or it's June or October. But start holiday music the day after Hallowe'en?

That's too much.
