I saw him in the 80's at a fairly small city arena when 'Shock the Monkey' was current, when he was still a fairly minor star. I wasn't a particular fan before the concert, but a friend was a huge Genesis fan. That was when concert tickets were reasonably priced, so I went. Amazing concert. No elaborate set, just some scaffolding on the stage. Band came through the audience doors, drummer with a marching band type drum, through the crowd and on to the stage. I only knew about 3 of his songs at the time, but the concert was amazing--Much better live than in the studio
Oddly, the same friend convinced me to see Ozzy at around the same time. Much more elaborate set, much worse show.
He has such a range of music and so much of it is so good, as I said, I'd love to see the concert. I recently saw a concert of his on TV and he did "Salisbury Hill" riding a bicycle onstage, in a circle. It was a real hoot. Maybe you saw it.
This isn't even a good venue but it just wouldn't matter.
That's funny and a great insight on the Ozzy concert.
