Know, too, it's been reported there have been 253 laws proposed in 43 different states to disenfranchise fellow Americans.

Only 5 More Days of this Orange Mess of a President
Only 5 more days to tolerate this orange President and his administration, thank goodness. And in the midst of all this, everything around him is falling apart, virtually, if not actually.
- He was just impeached for the 2nd time in your Presidency, a first in your nation's history
- He must vacate that same Presidency in 5 days
- States are cancelling multi-million dollar contracts with his companies
- Corporations and businesses are cancelling financial aid and any other support to and for him
- He has hundreds of millions of dollars in loans coming due in months to come and finally,
- He has been cut off from virtually all meaningful social media because of his personal opinions and announcements in the last months

Pew's last poll of his presidency is also Trump's worst. They show his approval rating at 29 percent. A great deal of us out here don't think it should even be that high, of course. And while he is at his lowest popularity, most Americans want him held accountable.
Here's what they're saying about him across the pond in Ireland presently.
It seems his taxes are not just being investigated for his taxes and any problems in 2 New York State cases but also in both Ireland and Scotland. On top of it, Scotland has made clear Trump is not welcome.
Imagine that, please. A former US President declared not welcome in another, foreign nation that is an ally. Again, unprecedented in our nation's history. He's becoming a sort of, if not actual, man without a country.
Then, this is what's happening just now with his attorney.
Meanwhile, this is where we stand today on this very killing pandemic for which we are leaderless, of couse.

I will say this finally today, I no way thought Republicans would do worse than Nixon, and a LOT worse, at that, in my lifetime. But they did. And did they ever.

More Presidential Last Days Insanity
It's difficult to even keep up with, let alone believe all the things this Republican Party President is saying and doing in these his last days in that office.

The fact that Donald Trump is still releasing campaign-style ads is itself bizarre. Election Day was eight weeks ago; the Republican incumbent lost badly; and if these commercials are intended to create a groundswell of support for the outgoing president, he's likely to be disappointed.But while the effort is odd, the details of the latest campaign-style ad are considerably more ridiculous. In the new, minute-long video that Trump posted online late yesterday, the first on-screen text reads, "Trump stands for America," which is a strange message for a president who's spent months attacking his own country's democracy. It's followed by, "Trump stands for American jobs," which is also weird given his poor record on job creation.
The video goes on from there, making other curious boasts. "Trump stands for American justice" is belied by his corrupt pardon abuses, while "Trump stands for military might" is an interesting choice given his recent veto of funding for his own country's military. It culminates in a five-word message: "Trump: He's what's for America," which is a rhetorical construction so clumsy, I wonder if the president's communications team was drunk when they wrote this.
Just loony. Fortunately, either his insanity or his stupidity, whichever it is that moment, helps his perceived enemies, hurts him and hurts what is supposed to be his own political party.

The wonderful thing about the $2000 stimulus check in COVID assistance is that it's tearing down this President's own political party.
The two GOP Senators in the Georgia runoff, Perdue and Loeffler have had to come out for it, too.
The irony of this next issue and headline just stunned me.
Donald Trump. President Donald J Trump. Saying someone else doesn't lead. You can't get any more ironic, or hypocritical, than that.
Then, what he is doing is attacking members of his own political party, instead, God love him.
Honestly, this President and his unpredictability and lashing out is not just unprecedented but...what? Insane? Certainly unpredictable.
Speaking of no leadership...
“No, I haven’t,” Cooper told CNN when asked if he had heard from the president since the bombing.
Keeping in mind he could be leading us all through this worst, most deadly, killing international pandemic in the last more than 100 years.
Not done there...
But no.
Instead of leadership, this is where his attention has been and where his insanity hurts us, hurts the nation.

Fortunately, this went in our favor the last few days. Ultra-conservative, Right Wing, Republican Party supporting Rupert Miurdoch's own New York Post blasted this President Trump for denying our election with a big front page story.

Meanwhile, Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen came out with this.
President Donald Trump's former lawyer and self-described fixer, Michael Cohen, said the president's pardons and sentence commutations for close associates such as Michael Flynn and Roger Stone could be a big mistake. Cohen told MSNBC on Monday that by pardoning these allies, Trump could be unintentionally giving prosecutors the power to force these close associates to testify against him. Cohen suggested that the people Trump pardoned would no longer be able to invoke their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and therefore must comply with investigations into Trump. Trump faces multiple lawsuits and criminal investigations when he leaves the White House.
It might well help to explain the pressure on Trump and his seeming unraveling.
And yes, this next article is the Washington Post and they are tough on this President but it shows he is getting lots and lots of really bad press.
Then there's this from Salon.
It's gotten so bad now, at the end of this presidential administration, it's even falling in on his Vice President Pence.
I can't imagine anyone other than Mike Pence has been more loyal to Republicans but they attack him for not supporting Trump in his fraudulent effort to overturn our votes and election. Incredible.
So far in this administration, I think Vice President Mike Pence did just what he wanted to do. That is, he laid low, quiet, rather out of sight and so, hopefully on his part, I believe, out of mind. No more. At the end and seemingly clear unraveling of this President and his administration, even he is finally getting some negative hits from all of this. It's no way a complete surprise bad as this administration is failing and flailing but it's certainly not the way he VP Pence, planned this, that's for sure.
So stay tuned, America, Americans. There's no telling where we're headed or what this President Trump will say or do, as we've seen. Hoping the worst isn't still ahead of us.
The good news? We're down to only 3 weeks left in this nightmare administration as of tomorrow.

Yes, here's yet one more. One more Republican very publicly leaving that political party.

A bit of her story and the article:
Horn said she "became a Republican" because she viewed the party's values as "a voice for equality, freedom and constitutional conservatism, with a rich history of fighting for what was right because it was right."
"For the past five years, however, I have found myself fighting for what I thought were the principles of my party in the face of the ever-deteriorating character and integrity of party representatives," Horn wrote in the op-ed published Thursday by USA Today. "They have revealed their impotence and decrepitude as they have fallen, one by one, at the feet of the most corrupt, destructive and unstable president in the history of our country."
"It seems there is no assault on human dignity too great, no attack on democracy too extreme, to inspire the Republican weaklings in Congress to speak up or stand up to President Donald Trump," she continued.

Sources say President Donald Trump has told advisers that he will refuse to leave the White House on Inauguration Day. According to a CNN report, several sources have confirmed that Trump will refuse to leave the White House on January 20.

What's Happening Now
As of this morning---
Joe Biden is ahead in the delegate count, 238 to 213 so there's some great positivity there. I naturally love this headline and conclusion, no matter the source.
On news that it looks like Joe is going to win today, the Dow is up. Again. Another more than 700 points just now. Fantastic.
Meanwhile, the Orange Man is getting as crazy and desperate as predicted. He did this last night.
Trump falsely asserts fraud, claims a victory
The reaction, understandably, was swift.
It seemed almost fitting, in a tragic way, to see Trump, after brazenly lying to the nation for his entire term, lying once more on Election Night.
For four years, President Trump has sought to undermine the institutions of a democratic society, but never so blatantly as in the early morning hours of Wednesday. His attempt to falsely claim victory and to subvert the election itself by calling for a halt to vote-counting represents the gravest of threats to the stability of the country.

Naturally, with this orange President fighting our election system and this election, he's coming under very heavy but fair criticism, all across the nation.

We're not some banana republic, after all. He doesn't own us as he did his own companies---which he ran into the ground, thanks very much. This is, once more, unprecedented for a President to do to us, to the nation.
We didn't get the "blue wave" across the nation the way we wanted and the way the nation certainly needs, that's for sure. Missouri, for God's sake, passed Amendment 3. Unreal. So now, Republican legislators will be free to gerrymander yet more of our state. It's unconscionable. But hey, they'll do anything for power, as Mitch McConnell shows nearly daily.
Some good news overnight, so far:
- Mark Kelly won in Arizona.
- Arizona went blue.
- Michigan and Wisconsin went blue.
- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won! Yes!
Then there's this.
Biden’s current likely electoral vote range is 270-306.
That’s a big deal.
Folks need to (quickly) get over the emotional let down of not having a wave election, and realize the practical reality that we likely have done what we came here to do: end the Trump Presidency.

On Trump Trying to Dismantle the USPS--and Likely Our Democracy. And Nation
So here is what's going on with this many-layered situation. First this.
Followed, also, amazingly, by this.
An internal US Postal Service document obtained by NBC News reveals plans to remove 671 high-volume mail processing machines from postal facilities across the country. The document, circulated in June, is broken out by region and city/state.
Heck, our own Kansas City Star reported it did, in fact, happen here locally.
Then this came from the Orange Man's mouth himself.
Trump admitted that he is trying to stop mail-in votes from being counted with USPS sabotage during a Thursday Fox Business interview.
Once again, this President shows he wasn't/isn't smart enough, bright enough to even keep his mouth closed, keep quiet about his plans, nefarious and blatant as they are.
With all that, this is where we are now.
The House Oversight Committee is calling for Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to testify at an "urgent" congressional hearing later this month amid growing concerns about whether cost-cutting measures will leave the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) ill-equipped to handle a rise in mail-in voting.
It seems the Trump's Postmaster General may have some significant conflicts of interest.

- Why are they being taken out?
- How does taking mail sorting machines out make any sense at any time but especially now when we need the postal service and all you do for this most killing pandemic in over 100 years?
- Why are post office mailboxes being carted away?
- How can anyone think this isn't to keep people from voting this Fall?
- Can you testify now, under oath, that you own no other investments that have to do with mailing or shipping of any sort in our nation?
- Can you testify here under oath that you would in no way benefit from having our United States Postal Service ceasing to exist?
- Can you testify here, now, under oath that it is not now nor will be in the future your goal or the goal of your boss, this current President, to end the existence of the United States Postal Service?
I hope someone asks them.
This, however, is how and where it gets difficult.
No matter what Trump says, the USPS has the money and the capacity to handle a huge surge in mail-in ballots. But new restrictions could disrupt the election.
President Donald Trump and his allies might well succeed in undermining the United States Postal Service’s ability to handle an expected surge in mail-in ballots this fall. But the biggest immediate threat to voting by mail isn’t blocked funding.
Trump acknowledged yesterday that he opposes a major stimulus deal with Democrats in part because he wants to stop an infusion of $25 billion to the Postal Service ahead of the election. “They need that money in order for the Post Office to work, to take in these millions and millions of ballots,” Trump said in an interview with Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo. But the president doesn’t want more voting by mail, and he doesn’t want the Postal Service to have any more money to help with it. “If we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money. That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting. That means they can’t have it.”
Democrats see the president’s comments as slam-dunk evidence of what they have been charging for weeks: that Trump is sabotaging the November election by purposely degrading the ostensibly independent Postal Service. They have assailed the appointment as postmaster general of a Trump donor, Louis DeJoy, who has moved rapidly to reorganize the Postal Service’s leadership and institute cost-cutting measures that have already resulted in slower mail delivery. Those service changes, rather than the congressional fight over funding, are what alarm advocates for mail-in voting the most. At stake is nothing less than the integrity of the election itself, which to a large degree rests on whether tens of millions of ballots can get into mailboxes and then back to their precincts in time to count.
Keeping in mind this, overall, from our own Constitution.
Whoever knowingly and willfully obstructs or retards the passage of the mail, or any carrier or conveyance carrying the mail, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

We Mustn't Normalize This President or his Administration
Journalist and political analyst Juan Williams makes what I think is an extremely good, even important point in his piece today at The Hill.
Normal?
How about a summer in which Americans are not allowed to travel to Canada or Europe? Seriously. That’s due to President Trump’s failure to halt the high rate of coronavirus infections in the United States.
That’s not normal.
Is it normal for an American president to stand in the White House Rose Garden and begin ranting? Trump said if presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden wins this year’s election, Biden will do away with the suburbs and windows.
Yes, he really said that.
There is so much that is not normal at the Trump White House that Rachel Maddow, the MSNBC host, recently spent an entire segment reading off a stunning list of scandalous acts now accepted as normal in the Trump era.
Is it normal, she asked, that Trump “put his son’s wedding planner in charge of federal housing in the northeastern United States ... fired one inspector general who was investigating the secretary of State ... advertised his wife’s jewelry line on the White House website?"
Any of the Trump scandals, Maddow said, would have amounted to “the biggest scandal to ever afflict any other presidency — but by virtue of the sheer number of scandals that surround [Trump] like flies around a pigpen ... [they] have just become part of what we expect, right?”
Donald Trump isn't draining the swamp. Far from it. This man his administration ARE the swamp. And they're going to get richer doing it. Meanwhile, they're stripping pollution and EPA laws, dirtying the air water and soil.
What's allowing for all this is that the Republican Party Senate is "running screen" for him, for Trump so he can, to date, do virtually anything and everything he might wish.
So no, we cannot, we must not become numb to any of Donald Trump's actions or words, any of it any more than we should get used to a killing national and international pandemic.
Final note: another thing that's particularly exceptional and welcome about this piece from Mr. Williams is that he is employed by Fox.
That's gotta' hurt the Dotard in Chief.

This President Is Really Losing It
All in one rant.
Insane.
He's gone insane.
If he was ever sane.
Not one word of this above is true. Not remotely.
Wisely, someone in the White House took it down, too, before it was up very long. I was fortunate to have caught it.

This ladies and gentlemen, is supposed to be the leader of our nation. Our President. And we still have 115 days until the election. then, 2 more months until he's put out of our house.
Paul Krugman said it right recently:
"I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling more and more as if we’re all trapped on the Titanic — except that this time around the captain is a madman who insists on steering straight for the iceberg. And his crew is too cowardly to contradict him, let alone mutiny to save the passengers."
It's unbelievable where we are, America. Nixon was bad. The 60s were bad. We've gone WAY beyond that. We've gone far beyond all of that. This is all new, very dangerous, very reckless, unprecedented territory. And there is likely a man who is mad, yes, a madman, driving this national bus.
