Did you see what the madman in the White House penned today for at least Facebook and probably Twitter this week?

We have a totally corrupt previous Administration, including a President and Vice President who spied on my campaign, AND GOT CAUGHT...and nothing happens to them. This crime was taking place even before my election, everyone knows it, and yet all are frozen stiff with fear. No Republican Senate Judiciary response, NO “JUSTICE”, NO FBI, NO NOTHING. Major horror show REPORTS on Comey & McCabe, guilty as hell, nothing happens. Catch Obama & Biden cold, nothing. A 3 year, $45,000,000 Mueller HOAX, failed - investigated everything. Won all against the Federal Government and the Democrats send everything to politically corrupt New York, which is falling apart with everyone leaving, to give it a second, third and fourth try. Now the Supreme Court gives a delay ruling that they would never have given for another President. This is about PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT. We catch the other side SPYING on my campaign, the biggest political crime and scandal in U.S. history, and NOTHING HAPPENS. But despite this, I have done more than any President in history in first 3 1/2 years!

If he was ever sane.

Not one word of this above is true. Not remotely.

Wisely, someone in the White House took it down, too, before it was up very long. I was fortunate to have caught it.

This ladies and gentlemen, is supposed to be the leader of our nation. Our President. And we still have 115 days until the election. then, 2 more months until he's put out of our house.

Paul Krugman said it right recently:

"I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling more and more as if we’re all trapped on the Titanic — except that this time around the captain is a madman who insists on steering straight for the iceberg. And his crew is too cowardly to contradict him, let alone mutiny to save the passengers."

It's unbelievable where we are, America. Nixon was bad. The 60s were bad. We've gone WAY beyond that. We've gone far beyond all of that. This is all new, very dangerous, very reckless, unprecedented territory.  And there is likely a man who is mad, yes, a madman, driving this national bus.

I saw this quote today from economist Paul Krugman and it seems very clear he's correct.

I say again, anyone but the wealthy--and stupid--who voted Republican again last year, in November, and for this greedy, self-indulgent, narcissist, petulant, emotional Trump should get schooling.

The First 48 Hours of the Debacle That Is the Trump Presidency

How we've begun, how they've begun, in the first two days, the first 48 hours of this new Trump presidential administration. It's at least as bad as we thought/said it would be.

It had an historically low turnout, in terms of Americans being there for the inauguration.

Missourians, your courts are being bought

I've been writing, nearly screaming, about our government representatives being bought, especially by the Right Wing and wealthy and Republicans and corporations, all, for some time. This story, now, today, from Crooks & Liars comes to us straight out of our own state, Missouri and it's shameful:

Who Is That Mystery Megadonor Trying To Buy A Judge's Election In Missouri?

The leading candidate for the six-figure donation to the failing candidate's kitty is Rex Sinquefield, but no one knows for sure.

Who would want to drop six figures into the campaign of a guy who had less than $100 just a month ago? Why, someone who wants all the judges in the state capital to be Republicans, of course!

TPM:

A month ago, Missouri GOP prosecutor Brian Stumpe had less than $100 on hand in his campaign to unseat Cole County Circuit Court Judge Patricia Joyce, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Now, just a few weeks later, he has received $100,000 -- all of it funneled into his campaign by a national group, the Republican State Leadership Committee, which has spent a total of $200,000 so far in this race for a single state judgeship.

So just what the heck is going on? Democrats and liberals on the ground in Missouri would tell you that somebody is trying to purchase the judgeship, and they have some suspicions about some Koch-esque Missouri multi-millionaires who might be behind the RSLC's interest in the race.

Why would they do that? Because Cole County, home to 75,000 people, contains Jefferson City, the Missouri state capital. So in most cases where somebody is suing the state government, those cases are heard in the Cole County Circuit Court. It is similar to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals at the federal level, in that case an appellate court with an outsized influence.

"If you sue the state of Missouri, if there's a lawsuit in which you're bringing a constitutional question or challenging ballot language or a fiscal note by a state auditor, those cases are directed to the Cole County Circuit Court," Roy Temple, chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party, told TPM. "It is a judgeship that has statewide importance."

Joyce is the only Democratic judge at the Cole County Circuit Court; her two colleagues are Republican. So ousting her would, in theory, be a significant win for Republicans looking to influence the outcome of the kind of cases Temple described. That helps explain why the Republican State Leadership Committee, which is currently chaired by former Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum and formerly chaired by Virginia GOP Senate candidate Ed Gillespie, would take an interest.

It's disgusting. It's immoral. Sure. Unfortunately it's legal because, hey, the Republicans made it legal, so long ago.

It's why we have to fight. We have to fight to end campaign contributions, period. It has to come from us.

New, monumental Republican stupid out of Jeff City

I can hardly believe, frequently, the extraordinary things said by people in the Republican Party out of the respective state capitols of Jefferson City, Missouri and Topeka, Kansas.  Here's the latest one, from just yesterday:

Oh, yes he did:

A Republican lawmaker in Missouri who is sponsoring a bill that would mandate women seeking an abortion undergo an ultrasound and wait three days for the procedure defended his measure Tuesday, suggesting a woman getting an abortion should treat it with the same deliberation as shopping for cars or carpeting.

State Rep. Chuck Gatschenberger (R) explained to his colleagues on the Missouri House's Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities committee that when he goes to buy a new vehicle, he doesn't just make a snap decision.

"I have to look at it, get information about it, maybe drive it, you know, a lot of different things. Check prices," he said, according to video recorded by Progress Missouri. "There's lots of things that I do putting into a decision. Whether that's a car, whether that's a house, whether that's any major decision that I put in my life. Even carpeting."

What's so amazing/fascinating/incredibly stupid about this is that, first, Rep. Gatschenberger seems to be saying--or wanting to say--that this is an incredibly important, rather grave decision, yet he compares it with--ulp--buying a car or carpeting.

Wha?

Second, he seems to think and assume that women of all ages could, would or do think of having an abortion lightly.

Since he's not a woman and so, can't have ever been in this situation, it's clear he has no idea whatever what these women go through in such a situation.

Fortunately, others in the House--not Republicans, of course--caught him on this, got him to rethink, at least a little bit, and apologize for making so light of this situation:

State Rep. Stacey Newman (D) called Gatschenberger out on the car comparison in a testy exchange.

"Are you equating that with a medical decision?" she asked Gatschenberger.

"No--" Gatschenberger said.

"That was your analogy, and that was extremely offense to every single woman in this hearing, representative," Newman said. "Your comments were extremely offensive to every single woman sitting in here, whether they're pregnant or whether they're not. I want to point that out, because that kind of attitude is demeaning to women, regardless of what they decide to do."

"That was not the intention. I apologize for that," Gatschenberger responded.

But Gatschenberger was pressing Newman to reconsider the bill seconds later.

Honestly, if people's own lives' and rights' weren't at stake, this would be funny.

Instead, it's tragic.

Tragically stupid, in fact.

With this kind of statement repeatedly coming from people in the Republican Party, on top of yesterday's vote by Republicans in the Senate disavowing equal pay for women doing the same job as men in the workplace, it stuns me any woman--any woman--would vote with these neanderthals.

Missouri Republicans send back double barrel stupid

Not to be outdone by stupid moves by the Republican Right Wing in Kansas, Missouri Republicans send back not one but two volleys today, in their efforts to outdo Kansas' reactionaries.  First this one:

Two Republican lawmakers in Missouri have now filed articles of impeachment against the state's Democratic governor, Jay Nixon.

State Rep. Mike Moon (R) became the latest GOP legislator to join the effort to remove Nixon, after state Rep. Nick Marshall (R) put the wheels in motion earlier this month.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Moon's articles of impeachment cited Nixon's failure to call a special election to fill a vacant congressional seat in Missouri. Marshall, on the other hand, was driven to take action after Nixon issued an executive order last year permitting same-sex couples married in other states to file joint federal income tax returns.

Need REAL legislation done?

Naw....   Let's do this, instead. We seem to get in trouble, for some reason or another, for continually and repeatedly legislating on women's bodies and their reproductive rights so instead of that......IMPEACHMENT!!!
