Corporate America
The corporation, as it exists today in America, will be a direct cause of the fall of America, with its need for virtually constant profits and increased profits, to the downfall of the common man--the man on the street--unless American's attitudes and our laws change.
You are dead on. We live in a corporatocracy... where the interests of the many are supplanted by the profits of the few. You would be amazed at the amount of money being thrown at congressmen and women now from insurance companies, pharmaceutical giants and other stakeholders in a quest to keep America's healthcare in the for-profit dark ages.
what is stunning is 1) that so little amounts of money, say, as little as $10,000-50,000.00 to a Senator, for example, can gain millions and millions of dollars in benefits for the corporations, 2) that so many middle-class and lower class people (mostly middle-) support the stance of the corporations and millionaires, to their own detriment and 3) that we allow this fleecing to not only happen to us but to go on and on and on.

"Gimme that NASCAR, baby!"
Sad.
And frustrating.
Maddening, really.
