Right Wingers: Who You Gonna' Hate Now?

Okay, so it's January 20, 2017, inauguration day. Donald J. Trump is sworn in President. (shudder)

So my question now, today, to all Right Wingers, Republicans and Obama haters:

Who are you going to hate now? Well, besides the Democrats and Liberals (or is that "libruls"?) and Progressives and--gasp--Socialists, that is.

After hating the Black man in the White House for 8 years, thinking he's going to take your gunz and impose Sharia Law and betray and destroy the nation, who are you going to rail about now?

After seeing headlines from Right Wing sites like the following for the last 8 years:

Obama runs $100M vacation tab on taxpayers

So, after all this nonsense, repeatedly, for the last 8 years, who are you all going to hate after today?

Who's your big bogeyman now?

An Open Letter To Donald J. Trump

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

An open letter to Donald J. Trump.

Dear Mr. Trump,

We, a lot of us out here in America, are still baffled how we got where we are just now.

We're baffled you somehow won the nomination of the Republican Party to be their candidate for the presidency, the highest office in the nation and the most powerful office in the world.

Worst, many, many of us out here are still reeling from even the idea that you won this office in our election, let alone the fact of it.

But that is all where we are now.

So, being here, you, sir, need to understand the weight and responsibility that is soon to be on your shoulders.  You need to understand that you are there to lead us, at least for the next four years, politically and morally, at least.

You need to understand, sir, there are things we, as a nation, decided we cannot and will not accept or tolerate. Some of them that fall under this list are the following

--Racism

Unfortunately, you have shown, sir, blatant racist intentions and intent. We, as a nation, as a people, decided long ago we cannot and will not have that in our government nor in our government officials.  We are one people, on this planet, in our country, and we must live and act as such.

--Sexism

You REALLY don't seem to get this one, sir. So to clear this up, I give you the definition:

prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.
Again, we decided long ago this is intolerable. You are to be the leader of the nation soon, sir, of all of us. And over one half of us are women, in numbers, and they are worth every bit of respect as their male counterparts.

--Misogyny

Again, because you have shown a lack of awareness on this point, I give you the definition.

dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.

See just above. This cannot and will not be tolerated.

It needs to be pointed out that you are to be the President and leader of ALL Americans, sir. Rich and poor, Black, brown, white, male, female, all of us. We need to come together, as I pointed out here earlier, since you were elected. We are a nation of immigrants. We are, famously, a "melting pot."

Please, sir, conduct yourself with levity and thought and thoughtfulness and nuance and understanding. The things you say and do will resonate a great deal beyond just you and your former life and influence. You will be covered daily by the press and news media. You must be inclusive with them, as well, and not exclusive. It's not your place to say that any media outlet can't cover you.  You asked and worked for this position, sir. You must soon take on its full mantel.

A lot of us out here are scared, sir, given what you've said and done on the campaign trail.

You will soon be President of all of us, sir. And for four years.

You will have to act like it.

Finally, please, please remember and always keep in mind that it can and usually does take more strength and character and intelligence and courage to wage and keep the peace than it does to wage war.

God help you, sir, and God help us all.

To All Republicans and All Who Support and Supported Donald Trump

Image result for trump

An open letter to all Republicans and all who supported the candidacy and possible presidency of this Donald J. Trump.

To you all,

The next four years are on you. They are all on you.

Of course, we will all be subject to the effects of this Donald Trump presidency (I can still barely write, let alone say it). Every utterance from his mouth, every move he makes in this office, him and his Vice President and entire administration, all of it will be on you.

In fact, it already is.

From Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian citizens, all celebrating this win for him to the negative stock market we already experienced between last evening and now, all of it. Everything negative that comes from this man and all his people will be on you.

Any denial of science, any dirtier air, water and soil, any military mistakes, any and all economic downticks, anything and everything is all on you.

Granted, too, I will say, if, by any grace of God there is any improvements for the nation, for the people and not just the already-wealthy and corporations, that occurs while he's in this office, I'll be the first to recognize and acknowledge it. Any of it. Any and all. I expect this "positive list" will be short, if it exists at all but I am not completely hopeless about it.

As I said earlier here...

God help us all.

On Hillary, Us and Her Campaign

So much has been said and so much still should be said, of course, about any candidate for the presidency of the United States, but even more needs to be said about the first female to get this far in one of these races and here it is.

hillary-clinton

A bit from the article:

Let me be as candid and transparent as possible: I was a very strong supporter of Bernie Sanders, and until the past four weeks, held out great hope that he would become our next President. Over the course of the past month, I have had to do a great deal of reflecting and ask myself where does this seemingly irrational antipathy for Hillary Clinton come from? Why have I participated in it? After doing some research and looking hard at systemic misogyny, I have had to confront myself with the truth that I bought into a narrative about Hillary Clinton that has been produced, packaged, and perpetuated by mostly the GOP with the help of many democrats and independents.

This narrative is a 30-year-old vilification of a woman who is bright, independent, wealthy, and powerful — a woman who asks for what she wants and needs. How very dare you, Ms. Clinton? How dare you have a mind of your own? How dare you be bright and powerful? How dare you ask for what you want and need? Don’t you know these rights are still exclusively for white, Christian, cisgender, able-bodied, heterosexual men?

My research indicates that the reality — the facts (I realize facts are immaterial when talking to many Trump supporters) — are that Hillary Clinton is one of the most honest politicians tracked by the Pulitzer Prize winning fact-checking project Politifact. I would also call upon Jill Abramson’s piece in the Guardian. Most of you probably know Abramson from the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times. Abramson writes:

As an editor I’ve launched investigations into her business dealings, her fundraising, her foundation and her marriage. As a reporter my stories stretch back to Whitewater. I’m not a favorite in Hillaryland. That makes what I want to say next surprising. Hillary Clinton is fundamentally honest and trustworthy.

Members of the press, in their misguided attempt to be “balanced”, love to point out that we face a presidential contest between the two least-popular candidates ever. What they fail to do is analyze their own complicity in blindly adhering to the cartoon version of Hillary Clinton.

And it's so true. And it's so tiresome.

The Republicans and Right Wing have been investigating and attacking and publishing and printing and putting out material on first Bill Clinton, and now Hillary for years, undeniably. Virtually every bit has been fiction, at minimum, and frequently, far too frequently, out and out lies, fabrications and untruths. She and her husband have been investigated, honestly, more than any other two people in the entire nation and, very likely, the world.

Far too many have believed some or all of them, too, to all our loss.

This is, again, a hard-working, smart woman who wants good--maybe great?---things for her nation and for the people of this nation. She's been a Senator, she's been Secretary of State and in both she did good to great work. She's tested, God knows she's tested, and proven of worthy mettle.

So let's get over the misogyny. Let's get over the lies. Let's get over the untruths. Let's get over the fiction,  let's elect the first female president of these United States and let's get on with the work and progress or our nation.

Harsh Truth Today on this Presidential Race

I saw this quote today, this morning, out on Facebook and had to spread it as far and wide as possible.

"Only white people have the privilege of thinking Clinton and Trump presidencies would be equally oppressive or unjust. Those of us who share characteristics with the ethnicities against whom Trump has fomented hate do not have the luxury of self-righteously dismissing Trump's overt mobilization of hate as just a superficial difference from Clinton.

Infantile leftists, however, continue to demonstrate their skin privilege every time they utter banalities about the evils of neoliberalism and elide those into the evil represented by white nationalism."

Republicans Have Gotten Out-and-Out Scary

fear mongering Republican presidential candidates Ben Carson, Do

The Republicans need to lose and lose big this Fall, in the elections, so they hopefully learn lessons and then "come down off the ledge", so to speak, and rejoin the rest of sane, mature, intelligent, educated, far less-emotional America.

It's not about their political party being wrong and ours being right, either.

This is about their calling for the opposing candidate to be killed, etc., etc. They've gone off a very dangerous and deep end.

This, I think, is what we get for ugly, emotional, out of control hate and rhetoric from Right Wing radio and TV. It's what comes from having killed the "Fairness Doctrine" in our media, years ago.

"Tom Tomorrow", as usual, has these people, and their convention, down. You should see all three of these.

This Modern Convention: Day One

And while Mr. Tomorrow is satire, there are extremely accurate, legitimate and even true descriptions of what has happened, what has actually taken place at this nearly insane and certainly irresponsible political  convention.

The disrespect--and lies--heaped on and attributed to this president

This is the kind of character assassination President Obama gets now. It used to nearly exclusively come from the Fox Network (I refuse to call it news). These all came, on the same day, yesterday, from Yahoo "News":

Obamacare advisor apologizes for saying "stupidity of the American voter" helped law pass

Jonathan Gruber, an MIT economist and key architect of the Affordable Care Act, suggested in a recently-surfaced video clip that "the stupidity of the American voters" helped Obamacare pass.

Obama to Unleash Deluge of New and Costly Climate Regs

President Barack Obama is gearing up to unleash a torrent of new climate regulations in the next few months and there will be little the Republican Congress can do to stop it.

Lies, deception, fraud: Obamacare architect drops bombshell

With the bombshell admission of the main architect of Obamacare that a series of lies were told to the American public to get the new healthcare law passed, conservatives have been vindicated.

It's pretty unconscionable.

Most people won't read beyond the headlines and worse, far too many will just believe the most negative these headlines and clips suggest, without doing their own homework and reading more into each area.

You'd think he'd lied to the nation about weapons of mass destruction and drug us into a war or somethingg.

What on Earth happened to Christianity?

I have no idea what's going on in Europe or any other nation in the world but I have to ask, truly, what on Earth happened to Christianity in this country?

It's gone crazy. It's gone looney.  It's fully, unquestionably out of control.

Jesus said, "Judge not, lest ye be judged."

You wouldn't know it today, judging by the people I see in real life, both on the streets and on television and what they say and do.

One of the absolute worst examples of what I'm saying can be witnessed daily--no, wait, hourly, minute by minute--on one of their television stations called Daystar Television .

The wackos come out to play constantly on this thing.

This one woman comes on her program apparently daily, an elderly woman with VERY blonde hair, and she riffs on current, national news. It would be funny if she weren't a) sad and b) horribly uninformed or misinformed. She knows truly nothing of national or international politics or geopolitics but merely sneers, repeatedly, at anything that isn't against President Obama and/or for the good old US of A.

Be clear on that point, too.  They REALLY don't like (if not hate) President Barack Hussein Obama and they make sure, at different times, we all know it.

The one that really gets me, however, and that I think is truly, singularly dangerous--and actually,  I think the entire station is that, dangerous, for the country--is the man and his program John Hagee Today with Dr. John Hagee.

This guy just rails against anything and everything that isn't the way he thinks it should be. He seems like a very clearly angry, judgmental, judging, hateful, bitter old man. From the pictures of him I saw on a Google images search, when it's a portrait, he smiles but when he's preaching, he's got his angry face on.

And he has that angry face on A LOT.

The one thing he said one time, as I was channel surfing past (really, I swear I was), was how bad Socialism is.

Seriously.  He was dissing Socialism.

And he yells.  A lot.

However patriotic I'm sure he'd insist he is, he apparently knows nothing, to this day, even in his advanced old age of keeping church and state separate, let alone why it's good for nations and their people.

One thing I saw on this station, however, that just purely tickles me silly is the show they call Discovering the Jewish Jesus with Rabbi Kirt Schneider.

It's a real hoot.

You're got this seemingly 100% Jewish man, standing there in his yarmulke and shawl, looking very much the committed, Jewish rabbi, menorah in the background, of course, yet he's talking about Jesus this and Jesus that.  I'm telling you, you can't want for amusement if you catch that show. It is alone in humor on this station.

Fortunately, there is one other redeeming quality to them all, too, and their TV station and that is that occasionally, but only occasionally, as nearly as I have seen so far, they put on a token black person, just to show how magnanimous and "inclusive" they are. Most of the time, you won't find anything on their station that isn't 100% bleached white and a great deal of them Southern, too, naturally. It's pretty blatant and stunning though I'm sure they'd deny any racism or white domination.

Haven't heard enough?  Check out their advertisement for this program:

Freda Crews

If that doesn't make you want to tune in, nothing will.

Right?

She is Dr. Freda Crews, just to let you know.

That's another thing, too.  Being all Biblical, virtually all the programs are given by men, again, naturally.  (Or rather, unnaturally, but that's another matter).  They let a few women have theirown shows but we're not going to have any female domination here, so sirree, Bob. Let those women have some control and next thing you know, they'll expect equality or something.

So very few black Americans and very few women.  Some, sure, okay, BUT JUST NOT TOO MANY, lest things get all out of control and all...

If you can and/or do go to the station, be prepared to see a LOT of men who look like charlatans.  Don't say I didn't warn you.

The thing is, I thought Jesus was supposed to be about love.

Wasn't he?

And leaving what is Caesar's, to Caesar?

And running the money-changers out of the Temple?

From the looks of virtually every minute of this TV station, they ARE the money changers.

And a lot of them are still darned angry.

If you can't or don't get the station--and I couldn't and didn't until this past week--consider yourself extremely fortunate.

Side note:  Lest you think this post today is just too dark or negative or ugly, even though I did try to throw in SOME humor, you can go here and possibly have a chuckle:

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are so far over this guy's head, it's laughable. Fortunately, it's just him, his family and some few followers. Thank goodness.

Quote of the Day

“Hostility and hatred are no match for justice; they offer no pathway to peace.” --President Barack Obama, speech, February 2009

Fox "News" finally gets something right

Coincidentally, they hit it right about these lunatics from Topeka. (I refuse to mention their name). I guess if you're on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you're bound to, one day, anyway, finally, finally get and say something correct. I wonder if and when it will happen again and how long it will take. We may never know.

Martin Luther King, Jr. on progress

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction...The chain reaction of evil -- hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars -- must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation." Martin Luther King, Jr., "Strength To Love", 1963

Hate from within the Catholic Church

The following was written by a member, apparently in good standing, of the Catholic Church and then posted online on their Kansas City Conservative Examiner.

First, a formal announcement:

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, commonly known as "The Redemptorist Church", on Broadway in "mid-town" is presenting the Faure Requiem on Sunday, February 27th at 2:00 PM as a fundraiser for a new pipe organ. The musical event features the Heartland Men's Chorus.

Admission is free but a free will offering is suggested.

The Heartland Men's Chorus (HMC) was formed in 1986 in Kansas City. It describes itself as,
Heartland Men’s Chorus is the largest and highest profile gay organization in the Kansas City region. As such, we are much more than performers: we are one of the most powerful agents of change in the area as each and every performance allows HMC the chance to display a positive face of the gay community.
The Redemptorist church is a Catholic parish under the care of the Redemptorist priests and brothers. The church's website lists eight priests and 2 brothers as clergy of record. This is amazing considering that this urban parish is dwindling in parishioners while suburban parishes with massive populations of "cradle Catholics" and burgeoning graduates of RCIA are trying to get by with one or two priests and a handful of lay pastoral associates.
The Redemptorists are an order of priests, rather than diocesan priests, who take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience not unlike Catholic nuns.

Redemptorists, also known as the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, were founded in 1732 near Amalfi, Italy as a society of missionary priests to serve the neglected country peoples of Naples.
The training for Redemptorists today includes a deep grounding in philosophy, moral theology, natural philosophy, canon law, and so on.

The Heartland Men's Chorus describes its purpose as,
The members of HMC have joined together for the purpose of making music as a not-for-profit, volunteer chorus of gay and gay-sensitive people who are making a positive cultural contribution to the entire community.
We are a member of GALA Choruses, the international association of the lesbian and gay choral movement.
The announcement is followed by this hate ranting:

It seems a stretch to find the nexus between a choral group whose mission is to showcase not just beautiful music but more importantly their alternate homosexual lifestyle and Catholic teaching on Divine and natural law. Maybe it is that the HMC is also a missionary society, one that takes its message of cultural change to any venue of convenience, no matter what the alleged good result promoted.

Free will offering or free love? Music is a common denominator of harmony. Surely there will be many who will argue some tenet of social justice supporting this blatant promotion of homosexuality by the local Catholic community: compassion, human dignity, fair treatment.

The fine fathers at Redemptorist might consider that the faithful continue to chafe at the mere suggestion of the pedophile scandal that has plagued the Church for decades; a betrayal of the greatest order done by adult men and their diocesan enablers who ostensibly consecrated their lives to Christ and his Church but nonetheless continued to molest predominantly male children.

With revelations of the behaviors found in modern day seminaries found in sources such as "Goodbye, Good Men", the Catholic Church may want to consider what message it is sending to the public by turning to the gay community, especially a group with an open agenda of proselytizing their message of first tolerance, then acceptance, finally conversion.

What will we see next from the fine fathers at Redemptorist? Gay wedding services?

Heck, Obama will not defend DOMA, why would we expect that one of Obama's largest constituent groups, Catholics, not follow suit?

A gay group fundraising for a new organ. There must be a joke in there somewhere.

Nice, huh?  Hate, straight out of the Catholic Church.  And on a local level, too.

Thanks, guys!

I swear, I can't figure why any gay person would be either Republican or Catholic or Mormon or, God forbid, Southern Baptist, at the far end of the spectrum, since they all clearly have no use, if not out-and-out hate for, gays and homosexuals.

Forget that same-sex attraction transcends both nature and time, throughout millenia---just keep putting out the hate.  What you don't know and/or understand, hate.

I don't believe Ms. Williams is aware of the "judge not, lest ye be judged" thing, out of that pesky Bible, let alone Jesus' admonition to "love one another."

Gotta' love those religions and "religious" people, eh?

Spreading God's love.  Yeah, definitely.
