Donald Trump is a "Man of God"?

It's one thing for President Trump to have supporters, sure, and a lot of us don't understand even that but there are those who take this even further. In fact, they take it much, much further.

Evangelical Christians see Trump as ‘man of God’

Millions of Americans Believe God Made Trump President

And it gets worse, too.

Evangelicals Call Trump A God

Donald Trump.

Donald J Trump. A "man of God". Or worse, a God himself.

Right.

To clear this up, let's make a list, even just a short list of hings we know about Donald J Trump:
  • He was given 493 million dollars from his father, upon his father's death
  • He declared bankruptcy at least 6 times, in his business dealings
  • He was found guilty of fraud through his Trump University and had to repay 25 million dollars
  • He was found guilty by a judge, in a court of law, for stealing 2 million dollars from a charity. And it was a charity for American Veterans from which he stole this money
  • He was married and cheated on this first wife
  • He ended up divorcing his first wife and marrying the woman with whom he cheated on this first wife
  • He cheated on his second wife
  • He ended up divorcing his second wife and marrying the woman with whom he cheated on that second wife
  • He cheated on his third wife
  • He paid $130,000 to the woman with whom he cheated on his third wife in order to buy her silence because, after all, he was in the middle of campaigning for election to the Presidency, the highest office in the nation
And that's all just for starters. There's a lot more, certainly, but I think the above all make my point.

If that's a God, that is one warped, even sick God, if not also universe.

Christians and Capitalism: Like Oil and Water

Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, shows five quick, easy ways Americans ignore Jesus and his teachings.

And this is a short, short list. Not least of which being the wealthy not getting into heaven.

Don't bother us with details.

Happy Easter Sunday' y'all!

You heathen hypocrites!

Question for Republicans

Republicans: How is it you are not totally, completely embarrassed by this rambling, incoherent, lying, completely unreliable, self-serving buffoon?

Seriously, you want the White House and power so badly, this bad, that you'll even tolerate this? All this?

And you think this is somehow not bad for the country, for the nation?

Really?

If you'll tolerate all this, what won't you tolerate?  When will he or someone, anyone, have gone too far?

People Whom I Can't Understand Vote Republican

Herewith, a short list of people who I cannot, for the life of me, understand why they would be or call themselves or, God forbid, vote Republican.

  • Gays
  • Transgendered
  • Black Americans
  • Middle Class Americans
  • Lower Class Americans
  • Elderly (unless they're already wealthy, of course)
  • Women
  • People in the military
  • Veterans
  • Anyone with an education
  • Anyone who considers themselves to be Christian

I just don't get it.

God knows they're out there but...

Wow.

On Jesu Cristo

Quote from FB friend Diana Pleasant-Hughes' page:

“Let’s remember, Jesus was a Jewish man of color, born homeless to an unwed teenager, who spent his formative years as an illegal immigrant before returning to his home country to hang out with twelve men, prostitutes, and socially untouchable tax collectors while he taught a radical social doctrine of equality, love, and forgiveness that included paying taxes, free healthcare, and the sharing of resources within a community.”

Think the Bible Is Against Same Sex Attraction?

Sure, some do think the Christian Bible is against same sex couples, against homosexuals and homosexuality.

It's because of this one little line--one--from Leviticus 18:22:

"You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination."
Know what else Leviticus says?  Too many don't.

The Christian Left's photo.

And this is just part of what the book from the "Good Book" says. There's more, besides.

Do you know what Jesus said about gays?

Nada.

Nothing.

Not one thing.

Religious Fundamentalists: America vs. the Middle East

This is magnificent. There are only two problems with it.

First, it doesn't make its point in 60 seconds or less and

second, the people who should see it won't and worse, even if they did, they either wouldn't get it or would deny there's any truth to it.

For the rest of us, enjoy.

Happy Columbus Day

AK Press

It seems there are still some people out there who celebrate Columbus Day. If you happen to know any of them, please share this description from Bartolome de las Casas of the sort of civilized and heroic behavior Columbus brought to the "new" world:

"And the Christians, with their horses and swords and pikes began to carry out massacres and strange cruelties against them. They attacked the towns and spared neither the children nor the aged nor pregnant women nor women in childbed, not only stabbing them and dismembering them but cutting them to pieces as if dealing with sheep in the slaughter house. They laid bets as to who, with one stroke of the sword, could split a man in two or could cut off his head or spill out his entrails with a single stroke of the pike. They took infants from their mothers' breasts, snatching them by the legs and pitching them headfirst against the crags or snatched them by the arms and threw them into the rivers, roaring with laughter and saying as the babies fell into the water, 'Boil there, you offspring of the devil!' Other infants they put to the sword along with their mothers and anyone else who happened to be nearby. They made some low wide gallows on which the hanged victim's feet almost touched the ground, stringing up their victims in lots of thirteen, in memory of Our Redeemer and His twelve Apostles, then set burning wood at their feet and thus burned them alive. To others they attached straw or wrapped their whole bodies in straw and set them afire. With still others, all those they wanted to capture alive, they cut off their hands and hung them round the victim's neck, saying, "Go now, carry the message," meaning, Take the news to the Indians who have fled to the mountains. They usually dealt with the chieftains and nobles in the following way: they made a grid of rods which they placed on forked sticks, then lashed the victims to the grid and lighted a smoldering fire underneath, so that little by little, as those captives screamed in despair and torment, their souls would leave them...."
