Republican Party Wingnuts of the Week

Actual things these people, these 6 Republicans said and did this past week. As always, click on picture for larger view, easier reading.
If they weren't members of today's Republican Party, we'd never believe they said it. Sadly if not also not surprisingly, our own Missouri Senator Josh Hawley is in the bunch, too. We have got, got to vote these people out of office, America.

Did You Hear What Our Senator Hawley Voted Against?

Seriously, Missourians, did you see what our own Missouri Senator Josh Hawley voted against?
How do you even do that? At any time in a nation's history, how could you vote against a bill that would punish any hate crime, against ANY group? And then, especially now, when we, as a nation, are experiencing MORE very racist crimes against Asian Americans. #VoteHawleyOut

Quote of the Day -- Racial Obscenity Edition

"In America, it's safer to be a white man, overthrowing the government than it is to be a Black man doing anything." --Middle Age Riot.
Thanks, Republicans!

Quote of the Day -- Crazy Political Party Edition

"The GOP is now the party of grifters and kooks" --Juan Williams. Keeping in mind, too, Mr. Williams is a journalist and political commentator from very Right Wing, Republican Party supporting Fox.
Sadly so very true. Think of it. Donald Trump. Mitch McConnell. Ted Cruz. Missouri's own insurrectionist Senator Josh Hawley. Matt Gaetz, Jim "Gym" Jordan. Marilyn Taylor/Traitor Greene. More. Sadly, still more. #VoteThemAllOut http://hill.cm/cdta1Qh

Quote of the Day -- Republican Party Hypocrisy Edition

"While Trump was president, EVERY Democrat voted for the $2 trillion CARES Act, even though doing so helped Trump. While Biden is president, ZERO Republicans voted for the $1.9 trillion American Relief Plan, because hurting Biden is more important than helping Americans." -- Brian Tyler Cohen @briantylercohen "The disconnect and hypocrisy of elected officials honoring front line, healthcare, daycare, grocery store workers, etc who many don’t make a living wage/$15 an hour, while simultaneously voting against a increase in the minimum wage is absolutely appalling." --Matthew Dowd @matthewjdowd

CPAC, Already, Today

In just one morning, today, so far, at CPAC, Ted Cruz laughed about his Cancun debacle while Texans literally froze to death, they did a tribute to racist, sexist, homophobic, misogynist Rush Limbaugh and they wheeled out---no kidding here--a GOLD STATUE of none other than Donald J "Jenius" Trump that looked for all the world, not like they were honoring him but that they were, instead, mocking and laughing at him. You know, the way all the rest of us do. Check it out for yourself.
Seriously, y'all, when you're done with that, could we use that at Democratic National Committee gatherings? That's fantastic. "The Onion" and SNL can't write stuff this good. If only they, the Republicans, weren't actually serious with all this. Wow.

Libertarianism: The Only Thing Worse Than Being a Republican

Wouldn't it be great to be a billionaire and then fund Libertarians and the Libertarian cause---so you could destroy government, lower your own taxes and so, make and keep yet more money?

Wouldn't that be great?

Republicans Have Gotten Out-and-Out Scary

fear mongering Republican presidential candidates Ben Carson, Do

The Republicans need to lose and lose big this Fall, in the elections, so they hopefully learn lessons and then "come down off the ledge", so to speak, and rejoin the rest of sane, mature, intelligent, educated, far less-emotional America.

It's not about their political party being wrong and ours being right, either.

This is about their calling for the opposing candidate to be killed, etc., etc. They've gone off a very dangerous and deep end.

This, I think, is what we get for ugly, emotional, out of control hate and rhetoric from Right Wing radio and TV. It's what comes from having killed the "Fairness Doctrine" in our media, years ago.

"Tom Tomorrow", as usual, has these people, and their convention, down. You should see all three of these.

This Modern Convention: Day One

And while Mr. Tomorrow is satire, there are extremely accurate, legitimate and even true descriptions of what has happened, what has actually taken place at this nearly insane and certainly irresponsible political  convention.

The Big Difference Between the Two Political Parties' Presidential Candidates

The big difference between the two political parties' presidential candidates is that two of them are discussing America's and American's problems and possible solutions.

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders

The 3 candidates from the other political party are discussing the big ears of one, the stupidity of another, which one might be gay, one another and the like.

Oh, and Donald Trump just got some endorsements, yesterday, from some NASCAR drivers. That's got to mean a lot.

Right?

Today's "Gilded Age" and This Presidential Election (Guest Post)

Robert Reich's photo.

"Not nearly enough has been said about the tax cuts for the rich now being proposed by Trump, Cruz, and Rubio. They’re larger, as a proportion of the government budget and the total economy, than any tax cuts ever before proposed. 5 things you need to know:

1. Trump’s proposed cut would reduce the top rate from 39.6 percent to 25 percent – creating a giant windfall for the wealthy (at a time when the wealthy have a larger portion of the nation’s wealth than any time since 1890).

2. The Cruz and Rubio plans would abandon our century-old progressive income tax (whose rates increase as taxpayers’ incomes increase) altogether, and instead tax the amount people spend in a year and exclude income from investments. Such a system would burden lower-income workers who spend almost everything they earn and have few if any investments.

3. Cruz also proposes a 10 percent flat tax, which would lower tax rates on the rich and increase taxes for lower-income workers.

4. The Republican plans also repeal estate and gift taxes – now paid almost entirely by the very wealthy, who make big gifts to their heirs and leave them big estates.

5. These plans would cut federal revenues by as much as $12 trillion over the decade -- but neither Trump, Rubio, or Cruz has said what they’ll do to fill this hole. They'll either explode the national debt, or have to cut Social Security, Medicare, and assistance to the poor (they’ve called for more military spending).
Bottom line: If any of these men is elected president, we could see the largest redistribution in American history from the poor and middle-class of America to the rich.

This is class warfare with a vengeance."

--Professor, author, columnist, economist Robert Reich.

The One Sure Thing On This Presidential Election

A un an de l’élection présidentielle américaine, tout reste ouvert

Speaking with friends this weekend on our 2016 presidential election, I've come to the only one, sure conclusion.

If any person says they know how this election is going to turn out, they are wildly, wildly wrong.

This is, without doubt, one of the most quirky, even bizarre, unpredictable elections of the last 50 years, at least, and likely longer. To say they know the outcome shows they know little.
