Hell to pay for Republican leaders in Washington
If there isn't a budget agreement in Washington from Congress and we don't raise the debt limit and nationally default on our debt, let's be clear here, it will have been the Republican leadership's fault in Washington and theirs alone. I don't think it will happen but if it does, all damage to the country, the nation's economy and the world economies will lie at their feet, singularly and solely. How is this only the Republican's fault? Long-term, we need to make real, significant, large cuts in spending, not just the small decreases in the rate of increase that the Democrats are objecting to. We shouldn't be talking about increasing the debt ceiling, if we cut the budget enough to fix the fundamental problem, we will never have an issue with the debt ceiling again. Freezing spending at current levels would be a vast improvement. Cutting spending to pre-Obama levels would be fantastic, and probably sufficient. The cuts that the Republicans are asking for are irresponsibly small.
And until Obama gets us out of Iraq and Afghanistan, he's got no right to blame anyone about the budget.
Here's how it's virtually only the Republican's fault: It's because the Democrats have and are giving and giving and giving on the negotiations as the weak-kneed, spineless jellyfish they are, while the Republicans haven't and aren't giving an inch--yet. That's how and why. We should take away the tax cuts for the wealthiest in the country, close business loopholes--like the tax subsidies for "Big Oil" (which are patently ignorant) and subsidies for private luxury jets and hedge fund managers (which make literally billions of dollars per year so it's not like they need it)--along with cutting spending. Sure, cut spending but do away with tax loopholes, too. One of the best to do away with that I've mentioned before are the tax credits to take manufacturing offshore yet the Republicans are fighting that, too. That can't possibly make sense to anyone--well, except for the Republican leadership that wants to keep taking their money from the corporations, their lobbyists and the already-rich in the country.
Oh, and right, dumbshit Dubya' got us into Iraq and spent trillions, literally, but now it's Obama's fault. The fact is, he's getting us out but just not fast enough for a lot of our preferences--or even our budgets.
The democrats could easily have passed a budget when they had control--instead they put it off until they had someone to blame. Ridiculous spending increases lost a Democrat majority--but their idea of compromise is to keep the overwhelming majority of those increases, to insist that cuts come 'evenly'.
I won't argue in favor of Dumshit Dubya. What I want from Obama is to end the expensive dumshit Dubya policies before starting his own expensive dumshit policies--we can only afford one set of expensive dumshit policies at a time. But since like most federal politicians, Obama is a statist first and a liberal second, he won't get rid of any idea of Dubya that increases government power.
It's the Democratic Party just as it is the Republican Party.
Fine, the Democrats put it off but it wasn't just so they had someone else to blame. Call it the procrastination and irresponsibility it is but that's it.
And Pres. O absolutely needs to do away with the spending and stupid programs, etc., that Dubya' created, for sure, along with doing away with "signing statements" which are nothing if not unconstitutional and a shameless power grab. I agree here, Pres. O should do away with anything and everything Dubya' did, took or created. Unfortunately, presidents all too frequently keep power once a previous one has wrested it from another branch of government. I thought this guy was better than that, for sure. We need to pressure him to do it.
