Check out this latest, breaking statistic on the coronavirus pandemic here in the US today.

The U.S. rocketed to a new daily high for coronavirus cases Friday as many states report record surges of COVID-19

Makes you want to vote to continue the current leadership because we're doing so well, right?

Thanks, Mr. President!
Thanks, Republicans!

Yet More Outrageousness, Stupidity and Irresponsibility from this President

Did you see what The Orange Man said now?

Trump baselessly claims doctors are inflating coronavirus death counts for money

You're a medical doctor in America.

You're fighting and helping to fight the worst, most deadly, killing international pandemic in the last more than 100 years.

At some risk to your own health. And life. And your own family's health and life, separately and together to do so.

And the demagoguing Republican Party President of the United States, one Donald J "Jenius" Trump, as we sadly, badly know, suggests, publicly, to his supporters, that you and other doctors may be or are exploiting it all.

For money.

To make more money for yourself.

I tell you, folks, there's no "low" to which this man won't go, to which he won't stoop. There's no "low" too low for this man.

Thanks, Mr. President.
Thanks, Republicans.

Let's do this, folks. Vote. And vote blue. Let's get that #BlueWave2020

Arguably the Most Important Article All Adult Americans Can--and Should--Read Today

The Business Insider published today what I think is an excellent, downright important article on this President and the direction we should all take once he's out of office.

Once Donald J Trump is out of office, we need to investigate--and more. A lot more.

I'd argue that it is easily, easily the most important, insightful, over-arching article any adult American could read about our nation and our situation today and going forward and in at least a few different ways.

Post image

If Democrats win, they need to enact a transformative agenda, fully prosecute Trump — and ignore any hand-wringing from pundits

All Democrats need to see, read and understand this article.

We need to make certain nothing like Donald J Trump ever happens again in our nation. We owe it to ourselves, we owe it to our children and grandchildren, we owe it to the nation and all successive generations of Americans.

It isn't about "revenge", either, no way. And it's not about fighting between the two political parties. It's about having people follow the law but especially government officeholders, especially the highest officeholder of the nation.

Let's do this. We need to do this. We need to root out corruption so it doesn't happen again.

86 45

And then prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law.

And then fight for restructuring the government so that it's far more fair and just and science-friendly and forward-thinking and acting, at the very least.

Our lives and our nation depend on it.

Fortunately, Trump is Going to Defeat Himself

Fortunately, honestly, as I said above, this President Trump is going to defeat himself. Thank God and goodness for that. Look what he did in Arizona to a supporter just a few days ago.

Post image

It's no surprise that Trump thinks his supporters are a bunch of morons.
Now he isn't even pretending any longer

Some of the article:

Sen. Martha McSally, an Arizona Republican, has paid her bootlicking dues. She's repeatedly gone out of her way to show obeisance to Donald Trump, most famously in January when she yelled "liberal hack" repeatedly at a CNN reporter who asked her if the Senate should consider evidence before rushing to acquit Trump during his impeachment trial.

But despite years of bowing and scraping and, of course, voting to acquit Trump despite his obvious guilt, McSally has earned no loyalty in return from her orange master. She's in a tough race against former astronaut Mark Kelly, a Democrat, and has consistently trailed in the polls. At a recent Arizona rally, Trump didn't bother to hide his disdain for McSally's standard political desire to address her own potential voters.

"Martha, just come up fast. Fast. Fast. Come on. Quick," Trump barked at her. "You got one minute! One minute, Martha! They don't want to hear this, Martha. Come on. Let's go. Quick, quick, quick. Come on. Let's go." It was clear that, as always, Trump resents every moment when the spotlight's not on him, even in the context of helping a sycophant.

I ask again---who does this?

Who but one Donald J Trump treats other, fellow adults like this at ANY time, anywhere but especially in public and especially when you know you are a) on camera because you are, after all, either President of the United States or supposed to be or b) even worse, even more so, you're in a political reelection campaign for the office you want to and are working to keep?

Who does this?

Ironically, he actually needs her in Arizona, too, and in the Senate, God knows and she's behind in the polls against her opponent, Mark Kelly.

Even if it were only for common decency and respect and manners--any one, let alone all of those---you'd think he'd treat her decently out of his own greedy, self-serving needs.

But no, not this one Donald J "Jenius" Trump.

We'll have no manners, we'll have no decency.

We've seen it time and again.

But wait, there's more. Link:

Trump believes his followers are a bunch of racist morons. Sadly, a lot of them are eager to prove him right

This Is Just How Bad the Nation's Leadership is On This Pandemic

The latest on this coronavirus pandemic here in the US and how bad our leadership is from this White House and across too much of the nation.

Coronavirus updates: US adding cases faster than 1 per second for first time

For the first time, the United States added cases faster than one every second on Thursday, Johns Hopkins data shows. The United States reported 88,521 new coronavirus cases, a record for one day. That equaled a new coronavirus case every 0.976 seconds.

With Thursday's data, the United States also set a record for new cases in a week, at 536,131. The second-highest record was set in the week ending Wednesday. The third, Tuesday. The fourth, Monday. The fifth highest record, Sunday. The sixth-highest record was set in the week ending July 22.

The surge is nationwide: 47 states had more cases in the latest week than in the week before, an analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows. An analysis of COVID Tracking Project data shows 41 states had a higher rate of people testing positive than the week before, too.

So check that out, folks. Note what this means.
  1. We hit this new rate for the first time.
  2. The pandemic is getting worse. A lot worse. And it's doing it quicker and quicker. Daily.
  3. It's not even winter yet.
So thanks, Mr. President. Once again, thanks.
And thanks, Republicans. That's quite the guy you foisted on the nation, pushed on us all.

Let's do this, folks.

Vote.  And vote blue.

Donald Trump’s Failed State

Donald Trump Is a Superspreader of Many Terrible Things

Further Proof How Dirty This President Is

This, this is exactly how dirty this President is. And he's, to date, gotten away with it.

A private company forgave a 130 million dollar debt from Trump after they got a federal contract. The story is from September, huge as it is.

President Trump touring the Cameron LNG Export Terminal on May 14, 2019, in Hackberry, La. (Official White House Photo by Shealah Craighead)

"A multi-billion dollar private equity firm whose subsidiary was awarded two special permits by the Trump Administration to haul hazardous liquified natural gas (LNG), including by rail along Florida’s east coast, apparently forgave more than $100 million in debt owed by President Trump.

New York State Attorney General Letitia James filed a petition last month in the New York Supreme Court seeking to compel the Trump Organization to produce documents pertaining to a $130-million loan to Trump from Fortress Credit, part of the $45.5 billion Fortress Investment Group. The AG seeks to determine if the president evaded paying capital gains taxes on a large portion of the 2005 loan that the Attorney General says it has learned was “forgiven.” Trump and his staff have not cooperated in obtaining the loan documentation, the petition said."

Hey, it's just our tax dollars and federal government, right?  What's a little-- a lot?--of corruption between friends?

What's additionally bizarre about this is that it's so "in your face." So blatant. So obvious.

Meanwhile, this from Fox itself.

Vote, folks.  And vote blue.  Let's do this.

Another Conservative and Republican for Biden, Against Trump

Another conservative and Republican comes out publicly, very publicly for Joe Biden and against this sitting, Republican Party President Trump. From the Detroit News yesterday.

Post image

A bit from the article.

I am a lifelong Republican. And I am exhausted.

Nearly all my career, I have worked for Republican candidates and conservative causes, managing campaigns, organizing coalitions and raising money. In 2010, I helped lead the Michigan Republican Party to its most successful election cycle in history. And for nearly two years, I served as U.S. Department of Education chief of staff in the Trump administration.

But this is 2020, so of course this year is different. I cannot vote for the Republican nominee for president. For the good of the party I have supported my entire life, but more importantly, for the sake of the country I love, I implore all patriotic Republicans to join me.

Let's be clear on this.

Never, in the history of our nation, have so many people from THIS OWN SITTING PRESIDENT'S SAME POLITICAL PARTY come out against him, publicly. Going further, no other sitting President had this many people, again, from his own same political party, FORM THIS MANY FORMAL, FUND RAISING FORMAL ORGANIZATIONS to defeat him and to see to his defeat.

It's that historic.

And it's deserved. It's for good reason. He's earned it. All of it.

Let's do this.

All These Endorsements for Biden---and Against Trump

Check out this list of endorsements, incomplete as it is.

'Record-breaking group' of faith leaders endorses Biden

Not only do I love this next one, given from whom it comes but also the depth and breadth of the endorsements and then finally, also from where it's being reported. None other than Fox.

The list includes former US attorneys, former state attorneys general, former sheriffs and former police chiefs

And this one came out yesterday.

I'm telling you, folks, between all this which is, again, only a partial list, and what I'm seeing in the polls, I'm what you'd call at least hopeful if not out and out optimistic.  But we must certainly, absolutely take NOTHING FOR GRANTED. We must vote, folks. We have to vote. And VOTE BLUE!

A Republican on Donald J Trump

Republican Steve Schmidt, who ran then Senator John McCain's 2008 campaign for the presidency, was recently interviewed and in response to a very general question regarding the Trump Presidency, he spoke for two  minutes and gave the most insightful and brutally honest response of what this GOP, Republican Party  Donald J Trump Presidency has done to our great nation.

Post image

“Donald Trump has been the worst president this country has ever had. And, I don't say that hyperbolically. He is. But he is a consequential president. And, he has brought this country in three short years to a place of weakness that is simply unimaginable if you were pondering where we are today from the day where Barack Obama left office. And, there were a lot of us on that day who were deeply skeptical and very worried about what a Trump presidency would be. But this is a moment of unparalleled national humiliation, of weakness.

When you listen to the President, these are the musings of an imbecile. An idiot. And I don't use those words to name call. I use them because they are the precise words of the English language to describe his behavior. His comportment. His actions. We've never seen a level of incompetence, a level of ineptitude so staggering on a daily basis by anybody in the history of the country whose ever been charged with substantial responsibilities.

It's just astonishing that this man is president of the United States. The man, the con man, from New York City. Many bankruptcies, failed businesses, a reality show, that branded him as something that he never was. A successful businessman. Well, he's the President of the United States now, and the man who said he would make the country great again. And he's brought death, suffering, and economic collapse on truly an epic scale.

And, let's be clear. This isn't happening in every country around the world. This place. Our place. Our home. Our country. The United States. We are the epicenter. We are the place where you're the most likely to die from this disease. We're the ones with the most shattered economy. And we are, because of the fool that sits in the Oval Office behind the Resolute Desk."

Vote, folks. Vote and vote blue.

The Trumpster Takes Yet Another Big, Big HIt

Yes Mr. and Mrs. America, this President took yet one more political hit today. This came out.

Post image

Wall Street spent over $74 million to back Joe Biden’s run for president, topping Trump’s haul

From the article:

  • People employed in the securities and investment industry will finish the 2020 election cycle contributing a notch above $74 million toward Biden’s candidacy, according to new data from the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics
  • The sum includes millions given during the first two weeks of October to Biden’s joint fundraising committees and outside super PACs backing his run.
  • Biden’s haul from Wall Street easily tops what Donald Trump and Barack Obama raked in...
People in the securities and investment industry will finish the 2020 election cycle contributing over $74 million to back Joe Biden’s candidacy for president, a much larger sum than what President Donald Trump raised from Wall Street, according to new data from the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.

The sum includes contributions that began in 2019 and continued through the first two weeks of October to Biden’s joint fundraising committees and outside super PACs backing his run. Former Goldman Sachs President Harvey Schwartz gave $100,000 this month to the Biden Action Fund, a joint fundraising committee for the campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state parties.

Biden also received a ton of financial support from leaders on Wall Street in the third quarter. Going into the final two weeks of the election, Biden, the DNC and their joint fundraising committees had over $330 million on hand. That’s $110 million more than for Trump, the Republican National Committee and their joint committees. Biden’s campaign is on track to raise $1 billion in the six days until Election Day.

It seems clear even Wall Street wants our nation to also have calm, clear, steady, intelligent, informed leadership again.

Let's do this, folks.

Vote.

And vote blue.

Little to Nothing Is Going the Trumpster's Way

I tell you, I'm loving this. This hit the New York Times and CNN yesterday.

Post image

Tax records show Trump had over $270 million in debt forgiven after failing to repay lenders

A bit from the article:

President Donald Trump has had more than $270 million in debt forgiven since 2010 after he failed to repay his lenders for a Chicago skyscraper development, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

An analysis of his tax records by the Times shows that after the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago encountered financial problems, big banks and hedge funds cut Trump considerable slack, granting him years of additional time to repay his debts, much of which was ultimately forgiven.

And while the previously unreported forgiven debts would usually fuel a large tax bill, Trump appears to have managed to pay almost no federal income tax on them, the Times reported, partially because of the significant financial losses his other businesses were enduring.

Trump Organization chief legal officer Alan Garten told the Times that the organization and Trump had paid all necessary taxes on the forgiven debts.

Can you imagine someone, anyone, but especially the now President of the United States having a debt of more than a quarter of a million dollars dismissed? And he wouldn't be beholden to anyone, any bank or organization or person after having such debt dismissed?  Really?

Not done there, oh, no, there's this.

The Washington Post has a new report analyzing expense money Donald Trump directed be paid to his properties since he got his desk in the oval office. Saying it is the tip of the iceberg, it has tracked at least $2.5 million in taxpayer funds, and $5.5 million from his campaign and fundraising committee to his properties.

This President couldn't be dirtier if he bathed in mud outdoors.  Can you imagine the Right Wing, Republican Party uproar if it were found then-President Obama did even ONE of the things this guy has been shown to do?

Going on from there, this happened yesterday, last night.

Is that not the perfect metaphor for this President and his administration?  With all his great planning, just as with the pandemic response, this President Donald J "Jenius" Trump left his supporters at the airport in freezing temperatures while he flew off, all cozy and warm and comfortable in Air Force One.

Meanwhile, this President has made it clear he's bored with COVID and discussing the pandemic and repeatedly.

We've got record numbers of cases of this pandemic, all across the nation, but this President and his White House lists it as a success.

Right. Sure. Makes perfect sense.

Here's the reality presently.

Trump's Chief of Staff called out the pandemic's situation just the other day, as a matter of fact.

Then, this week, after shoving  a deeply Right Wing Supreme Court Justice nomination down the nation's collective throats, Senator McConnell dismissed the Senate--thanks, Senator McConnell--for a recess I'm sure he thought was deserved. Forget that the nation and people are hurting from this pandemic, what with being, a lot of us, out of work with no paychecks so forget about any COVID assistance or relief. The consequences of that?

So thanks for that, Senator McConnell!

This came out yesterday.

Right, Mr. President. We'll get an aid package for this pandemic in your 2nd term, next year, right along with your "healthcare plan." Right. Sure. We got it. You love us, you'll respect us in the morning and the check is in the mail. We know.

He actually said this Monday.

"Mr. President---You're familiar with our US Constitution, right, sir? And the First Amendment? And Freedom of the Press?  Right, sir?  Sir?"

Wow.

Currently, too, thankfully, here are the results of a current Monmouth poll on the election according to  KyleGriffin  @kylegriffin1:
  • Georgia: Registered voters Joe Biden 50% Donald Trump 45%
  • Biden is up by 4 in a high likely turnout scenario 50-46;
  • Biden is up by 2 is a low likely turnout scenario 50-48.
And more outstanding good news here.

So yay, us.

Finally today, at one of this President's "superspreader" rallies in Michgan yesterday, he said this, trying to feed on fear---which, of course, is all he has.

At his rally Tuesday, President Trump sparked outrage online after he told supporters Joe Biden could be “shot” just weeks into his presidency and replaced by Sen. Kamala Harris.

While sharply criticizing Harris, Trump told his supporters that she “makes Bernie Sanders look like a serious conservative” and reminded voters that Harris would be next in line for the presidency should a President Biden somehow become incapacitated.

“Three weeks in — Joe’s shot, let’s go, Kamala, you ready? Most liberal person in the Senate,” Trump said.

“This will not be – we can’t let it happen – this will not be the first woman president. You’re going to have a woman president – this will not be the first woman president,” he ranted.

The crowd then erupted into cheers of “Ivanka!”

Trump paused and laughed.

“They’re all screaming Ivanka,” he chuckled.

And this is the really dangerous part:

Mother Jones’ D.C. bureau chief David Corn blasted Trump’s remarks, tweeting: “Damn. Trump is talking about Biden being assassinated weeks into his presidency. What nut is going to interpret this as an encouragement?”

So once again, thanks, Mr. President!
Thanks, Republicans!

Let's do this, folks. Vote! And VOTE BLUE!!

86 45!

And this is potentially frightening and no way good for Michigan or the nation.

The Trumpster Takes Yet Another Big, Big Hit

 This broke today.

Post image

Former U.S. attorneys — all Republicans — back Biden, saying Trump threatens ‘the rule of law’

Check that out.

Twenty former U.S. attorneys — all of them Republicans — on Tuesday publicly called President Trump “a threat to the rule of law in our country,” and urged that he be replaced in November with his Democratic opponent, former vice president Joe Biden.

“The President has clearly conveyed that he expects his Justice Department appointees and prosecutors to serve his personal and political interests,” said the former prosecutors in an open letter. They accused Trump of taking “action against those who have stood up for the interests of justice.”

The letter, signed by prosecutors appointed by every GOP president from Eisenhower to Trump, is the latest instance of Republicans backing Biden. In August, dozens of GOP national security experts signed a full-page newspaper ad endorsing Biden over Trump.

“He has politicized the Justice Department, dictating its priorities along political lines and breaking down the barrier that prior administrations had maintained between political and prosecutorial decision-making,” their letter says.

This is huge, folks. It would be big by itself, on its own, but with all the other Republicans and the organizations they've created and funded to defeat this President, it's even more significant.

Let's do this, folks.

Vote.  And vote blue.

We're Mad as Hell and Not Going to Take It Any More

 What the Republicans just did.

Senate Confirms Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court Just Over a Week Before Election Day

Senate Republicans are breaking 231 years of precedent and becoming the first majority to confirm a Supreme Court Justice this close to a presidential election day.

This nomination is part of a decades-long effort to tilt the courts towards the right to accomplish through the courts what Republicans could never accomplish through Congress.

A warming planet. Workers falling behind. Dark money flooding politics. The curtailing of the right to choose. The limiting of voting rights.

Those are the consequences of this nomination.

We will never not stop fighting for the health care, lives, and freedoms of Americans.

--Senator Charles "Chuck" Schumer

This is what just took place.

"Last night Senators from a minority party representing less than half of America confirmed the 5th justice appointed by minority party presidents who lost the popular election after they, including Rubio, insisted no nominee should be confirmed in an election year. Illegitimate."    --Walter Schaub @waltschaub

They got first Thomas, Clarence Thomas then Brett "the Fratboy Drunk" Kavanaugh and now Amy Coney "Handmaiden" Barrett.

What we must now do, folks, is one of two things.  We must either impeach both "Justice" Brett Kavanaugh and Justice Barrett or we must pack the Court.

We must.

It's intrinsic on what we, America, are all about. That is, fairness and justice, true justice and not just rule by the few for the already-wealthy and corporations.

Let's do this.

Then check this out. As if this whole situation weren't just already disgusting enough.

Meanwhile, after that very depressing news yesterday with the Republicans shoving a very Right Wing Supreme Court nominee down our collective throats in the last minute before a Presidential election, there is this hopefulness that broke today.

"Accused rapist and current Oval Office occupant, Donald Trump’s, attempt to use the taxpayer-funded resources of the United States Department of Justice to defend himself against a defamation suit brought against him by his alleged victim, former Elle magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll, has been rebuked by the federal judge overseeing that case."

We'll get him yet. This and the state of New York on his taxes.

Link--Lots of good, forward-thinking information here:

It's Not the "Chinese Virus"

This isn't the "Chinese Virus." Let's be clear on this.Don't let anyone get away with calling it that.

Here in America, this is the Donald Trump Virus. It's the Republican Party Virus, let there be no doubt.  See for yourself.

Timeline: Trump administration's response to coronavirus

This President first denied it, and for months, then called it a "Democratic Hoax." Then he and all the Republican Party Governors refused to wear or require masks be worn for it and now this.

The Trump Administration Shut a Vaccine Safety Office Last Year: What is the Plan Now?

Check that out:

As the first coronavirus vaccines arrive in the coming year, government researchers will face a monumental challenge: monitoring the health of hundreds of millions of Americans to ensure the vaccines don’t cause harm.

Purely by chance, thousands of vaccinated people will have heart attacks, strokes and other illnesses shortly after the injections. Sorting out whether the vaccines had anything to do with their ailments will be a thorny problem, requiring a vast, coordinated effort by state and federal agencies, hospitals, drug makers and insurers to discern patterns in a flood of data. Findings will need to be clearly communicated to a distrustful public swamped with disinformation.

For now, Operation Warp Speed, created by the Trump administration to spearhead development of coronavirus vaccines and treatments, is focused on getting vaccines through clinical trials in record time and manufacturing them quickly.

The next job will be to monitor the safety of vaccines once they’re in widespread use. But the administration last year quietly disbanded the office with the expertise for exactly this job, merging it into an office focused on infectious diseases. Its elimination has left that long-term safety effort for coronavirus vaccines fragmented among federal agencies, with no central leadership, experts say.

As with so many things from this President and his presidency and administration in the last 3-1/2 years, I can hardly believe what I'm reading. By all means, read this entire article. There is a great deal more information in it than I can or will put here but it's just stunning, at least, to see what this President and his administration did in the midst of the worst, most killing international pandemic in the last more than 100 years.

That he and they could, would or did close the agency responsible for overseeing vaccines in this year, 2019, when we need it most of all is just overwhelming.

So thanks, Mr. President. Again, thanks.

And thanks, Republicans. This is now and will be forever the Republican Party Virus.

Vote, folks. And vote blue. #BlueWave2020

Once The Donald Is Defeated

Here's the thing.

In a perfect world, we're going to defeat the Orange Man in 8 days at the election box.

And it does look hopeful, promising.

Post image

But once defeated, we'll have to hold back on any examinations of his legality and illegality, any potential crimes. This goes for federal crimes, sure, and that will be easier but the state of New York will also have to hold off.

He will have already lost the election, smashing his huge, fragile ego. The more trapped and cornered he is while still in office until January 20, the more emotional and irrational he will very likely get.

Once again, one more time with this man, God help us.

Let's do this, y'all.
