America, Your Vote and Voting Rights Are Being Devoured

Yes, Mr. and Mrs. America, the Republicans and their Republican Party know they're so deeply umpopular with Americans across the nation, they have to make it tougher to the point of impossible for us, fellow taxpaying American citizens to vote.
This cannot stand. We cannot allow this. It's un-American and un-democratic. We must stop it, all of it, state to state across the nation. Vote them all out. Push to have Congress end the filibuster and pass the For the People Act so NO POLITICAL PARtY can gerrymander voting districts any longer. Please contact your Senators.Let's do this.

President Biden and Trickle Down Economics

A lot of people, myself included, weren't sure how far Joe Biden as President would go with Progressive ideas. Last night gave great hope. We saw the disaster trickle down economics was in Kansas. We knew better.

Where We, the US, Are Now

We survived Trump.
President Biden is now on a calm, thoughtful, intelligent, responsible trajectory. The Republican Party is simultaneously tearing itself down and apart. Finally, still better yet, they, the Republicans, don't know and aren't aware of this... I'm hopeful.

If Jesus Were a Member of Today's Republican Party

Herewith, ladies and gentlemen, just that--what Jesus would do and say and believe and teach if he were a member of today's Republican Party. Own it, Republicans. It's you all over. Even before Donald Trump but especially after.

Quote of the Day -- On Today's Republicans

"The D.C. press corps has operated under one basic assumption: both Democrats and Republicans, whatever their ideological differences, ultimately believe in the norms of America’s constitutional government..."
"...Sadly, this assumption is no longer a given." --Dan Rather @DanRather

Question of the Day -- Self-Serving, Greedy Congress Edition

Members of Congress should not be allowed to buy and sell stocks. How is this even a thing? --Citizens for Ethics @CREWcrew
We know why it's a thing, of course, because they benefit from it. The question is, why is it still a thing? This is nuts. We should have put an end to this long ago, long before now. The $174,000 per year salary and all-inclusive, fully paid for health care all their benefits should be enough. It should be more than enough. We must demand an end to even the possibility of this self-serving greed and insider trading.

Quote of the Day -- Soon to be Ex-President Edition

"Trump will leave office with an approval rating of 34%, dismal by any measure. He is the first president since Gallup began polling never to break 50% approval. After the attack on the Capitol on January 6, the House of Representatives impeached him for a second time, and a majority of Americans think he should have been removed from office."

Our Next National Hurdles Once Trump Is Gone

This is what I've said for some time.

From The New Yorker yesterday.

Along with cleaning up so very many messes after this President and his presidency, we need to make sure that nothing, nothing even remotely close to Donald J Trump ever, ever happens again in America. And the way we do it is by, first, overturning Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court and then ending campaign contributions entirely in our nation. After that, also outlawing gerrymandering and voter ID laws that disenfranchise fellow American citizens from voting. Finally we need to bring back the Fairness Doctrine in our government and media.

I'm not hopeful. We could do it, we could it all but no, I'm not hopeful.

Timely, Thanksgiving Day Reminder of Trickle Down Economics

If "trickle-down economics" is or were so great.

Meanwhile, this is a line for food recently in our own Dallas, Texas.

26 million now say they don’t have enough to
eat, as the pandemic worsens and holidays near

Thanks, Senator McConnell.
Thanks, Republicans.

Quote of the Day -- Thanksgiving, Republican Party Edition

18" LACQUERED CORNUCOPIA

A staggering one in EIGHT Americans reported they sometimes or often didn’t have enough food to eat in the past week. That’s nearly 26 million Americans who are going hungry the week of Thanksgiving. And a full quarter of out-of-work Americans with children at home reported not having enough food to eat. The numbers are worse for Black households than for white ones: 22 percent of Black households reported going hungry in the past week, over 2.5 times the rate for white households. Food banks are overwhelmed trying to meet the new surge in demand: “We'll be hard pressed to keep up. We’re just bracing for the worst,” said the CEO of Feeding Texas.

Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell adjourned the Senate last week and let them skip town early for Thanksgiving. He and his do nothing Senate Republicans get to go home to their families and sit down to a table bursting with food, while 26 million of their fellow Americans starve. As long as their rich friends are happy now that the stock market is soaring, they couldn’t be bothered to serve their constituents. It’s one of the grossest abdications of duty I’ve ever seen. There are no words to truly describe Mitch McConnell’s moral bankruptcy.

--Robert Reich

Thanks, Senator McConnell
Thanks, Republicans.

Quote of the Day -- Post-Presidential Edition

Former CIA Director John Brennan wrote the best, most true and deserving lines on Twitter this past  Monday on this President.

“For four years, I spoke out vigorously against Donald Trump’s craven dishonesty, corrupt pursuit of personal interests, & trampling of our democratic principles. After serving over three decades in national security, I felt compelled to condemn Trump’s depravity & incompetence. My outspokenness has brought criticism, retaliation by the Trump Administration, & threats by those blinded by Trump’s demagoguery,” he continued. “Yes, it is unusual for a former CIA Director to speak out, but when an autocrat descended upon the White House, silence was not an option for me. I now plan to ignore Trump, I leave his fate to our judicial system, his infamy to history, & his legacy to a trash heap.”

Thank you, sir, for your service.

And for these very fair, very deserved words.

We Can't Have Universal Health Care

No, universal health care will never work here. Not in the United States. It's just not workable.

(Click on picture for easier reading).

God help and forgive us.

Forgive our stupidity. Our inhumanity. Their greed.

I Can't Believe This Man Ever Became President

 Geeminy, God.

Look at this post, y'all. From what is supposed to be our President. He put this on Facebook, at least, yesterday, last night.

Post image

Every corrupt force in American life that betrayed you and hurt your are supporting Joe Biden: The failed establishment that started the disastrous foreign wars; The career politicians that offshored your industries & decimated your factories; The open borders lobbyists that killed our fellow citizens with illegal drugs, gangs & crime; The far-left Democrats that ruined our public schools, depleted our inner cities, defunded our police, & demeaned your sacred faith & values; The Anti-American radicals defaming our noble history, heritage & heroes; and ANTIFA, the rioters, looters, Marxists, & left-wing extremists. THEY ALL SUPPORT JOE BIDEN!

Seriously. This is pitiful. And Pathetic. It just shows all the more reasons why he should never have been in the White House in any government capacity and why he should be voted out now.

Thanks, Republicans. Again, thanks so very much for this man, this buffoon of a President.

Vote, folks. And VOTE BLUE.

Let's do this, folks. #Votehimout

The Trumpster Takes Yet Another Big, Big HIt

Yes Mr. and Mrs. America, this President took yet one more political hit today. This came out.

Post image

Wall Street spent over $74 million to back Joe Biden’s run for president, topping Trump’s haul

From the article:

  • People employed in the securities and investment industry will finish the 2020 election cycle contributing a notch above $74 million toward Biden’s candidacy, according to new data from the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics
  • The sum includes millions given during the first two weeks of October to Biden’s joint fundraising committees and outside super PACs backing his run.
  • Biden’s haul from Wall Street easily tops what Donald Trump and Barack Obama raked in...
People in the securities and investment industry will finish the 2020 election cycle contributing over $74 million to back Joe Biden’s candidacy for president, a much larger sum than what President Donald Trump raised from Wall Street, according to new data from the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.

The sum includes contributions that began in 2019 and continued through the first two weeks of October to Biden’s joint fundraising committees and outside super PACs backing his run. Former Goldman Sachs President Harvey Schwartz gave $100,000 this month to the Biden Action Fund, a joint fundraising committee for the campaign, the Democratic National Committee and state parties.

Biden also received a ton of financial support from leaders on Wall Street in the third quarter. Going into the final two weeks of the election, Biden, the DNC and their joint fundraising committees had over $330 million on hand. That’s $110 million more than for Trump, the Republican National Committee and their joint committees. Biden’s campaign is on track to raise $1 billion in the six days until Election Day.

It seems clear even Wall Street wants our nation to also have calm, clear, steady, intelligent, informed leadership again.

Let's do this, folks.

Vote.

And vote blue.

Quote of the Day -- Presidential Edition

"Trump is the most psychiatrically disordered president in history."

From an article today at The New York Daily News from 2 psychologists.

Thanks, Republicans. Y'all must be so proud. And happy. You love power over all else, as we know.
