The Real President Joe Biden Is Starting to Come Out, It Seems

We hoped he'd be stronger.  We hoped he'd be stronger than this, especially this early. It's not a complete surprise but that doesn't mean it's not a disappointment. Here's the first.

He, President Biden, insists he can't pardon $50,000 of student higher education debt. He says he can, constitutionally, pardon $10,000 in debt but not $50,000.

What??

I'm pretty sure if the Constitution says you can forgive 10, you can forgive 50.

Number two. First he does and says this.

Then he backtracks yesterday.

Mr. President, sir, I have to tell you, that first statement weakens you and weakens your position on this issue as far as the Republicans are concerned. You get that, right?

And finally, third today.

A new brief takes an aggressive stance against outspoken Trump critic Omarosa Manigault Newman in a financial disclosure flap.

Check this story out.

The Biden Justice Department is showing no sign of letting up in a two-year-old legal fight against a former White House aide who became an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump.

While the Justice Department has sought to pause or drop a number of high-profile court battles due to the change in administration, government lawyers are pressing on aggressively with a lawsuit claiming that Omarosa Manigault Newman failed to file a required financial disclosure following her attention-grabbing firing in December 2017.

Manigault Newman has described the suit as a vendetta aimed at her for turning on Trump, calling him a racist and making revealing disclosures about the former president and his top aides. She also wrote a tell-all book, “Unhinged,” which chronicles her dealings with Trump as a contestant on “The Apprentice” and later as his most prominent African American White House aide.

In a new brief filed in federal court in Washington just before midnight Thursday, the Justice Department forcefully defended its position in the case, even tangling with Manigault Newman over the contentious circumstances of her dismissal by then-White House chief of staff John Kelly.

“She…made no attempt to file any Termination Report before September 2019, more than a year and a half after it was due and after this litigation was commenced,” DOJ lawyers wrote. “Then, following that submission—in which only half the required fields were even filled out—Defendant made no effort for over a year to correct her submission, despite being promptly advised of its deficiencies…She remains out of compliance with [the Ethics in Government Act] to this day.”

The suit asks U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon to impose a civil penalty of $61,585 on Manigault Newman for willfully refusing to file the financial disclosure. Such suits are rare. Disputes over financial disclosures are typically resolved by an employee updating the forms and, in some instances, incurring a small penalty.

Manigault Newman’s main defense in the case has been that — after her acrimonious departure from the White House — Trump aides refused to return her personal effects, including financial records she needed to complete the required exit report. She also asserts that she is a whistleblower on government wrongdoing and that the lawsuit amounts to illegal retaliation for that.

After her dismissal, Manigault Newman released audio recordings she secretly made of a tense conversation with Kelly held in the highly-secure White House Situation Room — as well as a recording of another conversation where Trump implausibly asserted he was unaware Kelly planned to fire her.

In the audio, Kelly encourages Manigault Newman to go quietly so she “can go on without any kind of difficulty relative to her reputation.” It later emerged that Kelly said Manigault Newman had abused the White House car service. She contends that was a pretext for firing her.

While the new Justice Department brief argues that statement by Kelly was not a threat and maintains that she was fired for “misuse of government resources,” government lawyers also contend those disputes are irrelevant to the ongoing suit.

“Notwithstanding Defendant’s unfounded references to ‘threats’ at the time of her termination, the merits of Defendant’s termination from the White House are not at issue in this case,” the attorneys wrote...

So here's the deal. It looks as though, certainly seems as though, this lawsuit should be thrown out, on its own merits, for starters. It seems clear this is vengeance from the previous President and his administration.

You'd think it would be a no-brainer, right?

But here's the thing. From what I've read, now-President Biden wants to make sure no one in his administration does anything remotely similar to him once he's out of office so he and his administration want the lawsuit to go forward.

Don't get me wrong. We knew what we were getting with Joe Biden, to be sure. And I/we don't think he is or ever was or was going to be perfect in this role as President---and he's a HUGE, huge improvement over the previous occupant of the White House, to state the necessary and obvious but...  Geez   Let's be a bit tougher, Joe and a bit more consistent.

Could you? Would you work on that?

Please?

More. Another, too, sadly.

What a Fine Company, That Amazon!

Yessirree, Bob! That Amazon! What a fantastic, upstanding company, eh? Just doing great work out there for us all. So what if it's owner, Jeff Bezos is worth somewhere closely around 200 billion dollars! So what if, one day last year, his net worth went UP 13 billion dollars in one day! Forget all that! They're doing great work for us and for their employees both. Why, just look at the latest news!

For starters, this broke today:

Amazon Inc. agreed to pay more than $61.7 million to settle allegations it cheated Amazon Flex drivers out of nearly one-third of tips from customers for more than two years. The money paid to the Federal Trade Commission will be used to compensate drivers. The FTC said Amazon in 2015 advertised that a program called Flex would pay drivers $18 to $25 an hour to make deliveries and that they would receive 100% of any tips. But in late 2016 Amazon “secretly reduced its own contribution to drivers’ pay,” according to the FTC complaint.

And Unions? Why, of course with all the money the company and Mr. Bezos are making, they have no problem whatever that Amazon employees have great employment representation! Right??

And with all that money Mr. Bezos makes, why, of course he gives his employees the best, fullest benefits!

Amazon warehouse workers say they struggle to get paid

And working conditions for the employees?? Why, don't even ask! They're the best! The best!

SO WHAT if they also pay ZERO TAXES!

I'm just SO VERY GLAD we've gotten FAR BEYOND the sweat shops and robber barons of 100 years ago, aren't you? Further proof, of course, that, as the Republicans and Right Wingers and Libertarians say, we no way need government regulations over business and industry! Why, everything's working just as it ought! To EVERYONE'S BENEFIT!

So, sure! That Amazon! What a great, great company! So who cares if Mr. Bezos is a multi- multi-billionaire 200 times over! Everything is great at that company!

Other Amazon news breaking this week:

I guess maybe 200 billion dollars is "enough"??

With all the money they're making and the taxes they're not paying, they had to do SOMETHING with all that money! Right??

Still More Bizarre Is Coming Out About Trump and His Political Party

Between the Republicans themselves and their extreme Right Wing and then the QAnon people, I can barely keep up. And with Trump out of the White House, I thought the bizarre stories of him were behind us but no, there's still more. Did you see this?

Russia has been cultivating Trump as an asset for 40 years, former KGB spy says

Just a bit from the article:

  • The KGB cultivated Trump as an asset for 40 years, a former operative told The Guardian.
  • Yuri Shvets told The Guardian that the KGB had identified Trump as a potential asset in the 1980s.
  • Shvets said it was stunning when Trump took out an ad repeating anti-Western talking points after a trip to Moscow.
Seriously, that last one must have had the Russians deliriously happy at the time, that they could get this famous reality TV host to parrot their criticisms of HIS OWN NATION??  And then to get him planted at the head of that nation?  As PRESIDENT??  Their wildest dreams surely came true.

It would normally be extremely upsetting, too, to the fellow members of his political party but they just COMPLETELY DENY IT. Just deny it all. That way you can tell yourself it never happened. And then accuse Democratic Socialists like AOC and Bernie Sanders and the like of being Communists.

I tell you, I can't believe where we are.

Republicans and Right Wingers actually attacked our own nation's Capitol and no one is really being held accountable for it. Some of the actual trespassers have been charged but that's it. Nothing else.

With that attack on the Capitol, so many of us were sure even the Republicans would hold Trump accountable, for the nation's sake but no. Certainly not. This took place yesterday, for God's sake.

Additional proof:

Meanwhile, there is this:

As further proof, there's this guy.

Then, one Republican taking a gun into Congress and the Capitol, no, certainly not.

Then, from Texas we have this pretty incredible development.

Here's a guy who was part of the attack on our nation's Capitol and now he goes back home and proposes his state leaves our union, leaves the United States.

How are both of those not treason, separately?

How is this guy getting any support from his political party on the local, state or national level?  How is that possible?

Into what ultra-bizarro world has Donald J Trump and his political party dumped us all?

How do we get it all to stop?

This Unbelievable President and Presidency

Once again, this President leaves me disbelieving just where, exactly, we all, as a nation, are.

Yesterday's debacle and insurrection and assault on our nation was nothing if not unforgivable. There's so much to say on it. I could write and write here and then post other's information, too. Obviously, that won't help and no one could read it all. I'll just put where we are now.

And that is, we are, it seems clear, stuck with this greedy, absurd, self-centered, selfish, ignorant, reckless, now obviously dangerous dolt for a few more days. Thirteen to be exact. That and we just have to hope and maybe pray, if we do that sort of thing, that he doesn't do anything else stupid. That is a tall, tall order for this man, as we've repeatedly seen in the last 4 years.

One outcome of all this, sort of shallow as it is, is that he's suspended, indefinitely, on Facebook and Instagram.

Think of that.

Not a teenager but no less than this Republican Party President is blocked from posting on social media because he tells so many untruths--read: lies--and emotionally incites his followers. Again, unreal. For any other President, this would be unthinkable, unbelievable. Heck, for any other adult it would be unheard of.

Then there's his administration.  People are now, no big surprise, bailing on him and it all, and left and right. There have been 9 quit so far with the most notable being Elaine Chao. Yes, THAT Elaine Chao. None other than Senator Mitch McConnell's own wife.

Then there's very Right Wing nutjob Mick Mulvaney. He quit, too. It was too crazy in Trump's White House now even for him.  You can the rest of the list of the people who have so far, to this minute, bailed here:

Everyone Who Has Quit the Trump Administration After Wednesday’s Anarchy

People are, deservedly, asking, telling him to resign or be thrown out. And not just Democrats are saying it. In fact, this is the first person I heard call for him, Trump, to step down or be removed and he's GOP.

Meanwhile, it's ratcheted up since his call hours ago.

As for yesterday's insanity and obscenities, I was certain that, because we knew they, Trump's supporters/protesters were going to Washington, that all the security would be in place and it would be inconsequential. I forgot we live in Trump's world, at least now.
If there is any silver lining, so to speak, from this ugliness yesterday in Washington, it is that the Republican Party is in meltdown just now, before our very eyes.

We have at least that to thank Mr. Trump for. Ironically, very ironically, none other than Right Wing, Republican Trump lapdog Senator Lindsey Graham predicted this.

If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it.— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) May 3, 2016

Who knew he'd be so prescient?

Think about yesterday's attack on our Capitol, too.  The only leadership we get from this pathetic excuse for a President is to have his delusional followers attack our capitol building in Washington DC. Meanwhile, record numbers of Americans are dying from this pandemic.

Which now brings us to the far more local party of this unfolding news and that is our own Missouri Senator Josh "I'll Do Anything For a Vote" Hawley. He rightly isn't coming out of this well. The following is from our own Kansas City Star.

A bit from the article:

No one other than President Donald Trump himself is more responsible for Wednesday’s coup attempt at the U.S. Capitol than one Joshua David Hawley, the 41-year-old junior senator from Missouri, who put out a fundraising appeal while the siege was underway.

This, Sen. Hawley, is what law-breaking and destruction look like. This is not a protest, but a riot. One woman who was apparently part of the pro-Trump mob was fatally shot by Capitol Police as lawmakers took cover. Some of those whose actions Trump encouraged and later condoned brought along their Confederate flags.

And no longer can it be asked, as George Will did recently of Hawley, “Has there ever been such a high ratio of ambition to accomplishment?” Hawley’s actions in the last week had such impact that he deserves an impressive share of the blame for the blood that’s been shed.

Hawley was first to say that he would oppose the certification of Joe Biden’s Electoral College win. That action, motivated by ambition, set off much that followed — the rush of his fellow presidential aspirant Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and other members of the Sedition Caucus to put a show of loyalty to the president above all else.

Meanwhile, Senator Hawley has been very rightly savaged in the media across the nation for this words and actions leading up to yesterday's Trump supporters' travesty. At one point, at the beginning of the Right Wing assault on our Capitol in Washington, Senator Hawley actually went outside the building to cheer on the Trump troops. Not surprisingly, it prompted lots of backlash on social media. This was my person al favorite.

Again, certainly deserved.

None other than deeply Right Wing, very conservative, very Republican columnist George Will had this to say about our Senator.

Which leaves us rather incompletely at where we are now. Both the 25th Amendment and another impeachment would take far longer than the less than two weeks we have now so chances are strong that, unless Trump does abdicate or bail, chances are strong we are, in fact, stuck with him. I think Vice President Mike Pence is far too much both a coward and opportunist and won't invoke the 25th Amendment. He doesn't want to burn himself with even the nutcase Trump supporters of the party.

But one more good thing that could well come of this, however, is that Nancy Pelosi and the House may well put him, Donald J "Jenius" Trump up for impeachment anyway.  And here's the great thing about that.

Donald Trump would then be the only, only President, of all 45, that has been impeached twice.

Among the things we can't have is this.

This is what we need to keep in mind going forward, I think.

Think happy thoughts, campers.

Also, hope---and pray, if you're into that--that the worst of this man Donald Trump and his Presidency are behind us.

Stay and be safe and well.

Where We Are Now With This President Trump

16 days out.  Only two more weeks and two days to inauguration. Yahoo.

This happened today, thankfully.

Judge Reject Last Ditch Effort to Overturn Election

This broke earlier today, about an hour ago.

A federal judge has rejected a legal effort from groups of Trump voters to block Congress from officially counting the Electoral College votes and suggested the attorneys involved may be subject to sanctions, suggesting they were using courts to "engage in such gamesmanship or symbolic political gestures."
It was yet another defeat for the dubious last-ditch legal maneuvers aimed at overturning President-elect Joe Biden's victory.

Fortunately, also happening now, today, our Missouri Senator Josh Hawley is getting skewered, too, for supporting the overturning of our votes and election.

The Washington Post puts Senator Hawley and his recent views in excellent, accurate perspective.

Fortunately, Senator Tom Cotton, of all people, of all Senators, from our neighbor to the South, Arkansas, at least did the right thing.

And Paul Ryan, of all people, also came out against Trump and his electoral gambit.

Amazingly, even Senator Lindsey "Lap Dog" Graham came to his senses.

Unfortunately, this became necessary. Fortunately, they all spoke up.

All 10 currently living ex-Defense Secretaries — two of whom served in the Trump administration — have banded together with a new op-ed in The Washington Post in which they insist upon the critical importance of an orderly transfer of power between presidential administrations without any military involvement in dealing with election-related challenges like those which outgoing President Donald Trump and his allies have raised.

Even Dick Cheney--freaking Dick "Right Wing" Cheney came out against Trump's power grab here.

And rightly so. Also fortunately, the business community is coming out with their opinion of Trump's trying to overthrow our election results.

Meanwhile, Trump's colossally misinformed, misguided, quite possibly illegal phone call he made over the weekend to Georgia, asking them to overturn the election and find him, very specifically, "11,780 more votes", is quite possibly, if not likely either getting or going to get him into yet further legal trouble.

There's talk he could be arrested in Georgia when he goes there tomorrow to help get out Republican votes for their two senate candidates.

What took place is incredible.

In his latest attempt to recall the presidential election on Saturday, President Donald Trump reportedly demanded during a now-leaked call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger that the latter “find” 11,780 votes for him to win Georgia over President-elect Joe Biden.

During the hour-long phone call, which was first obtained by The Washington Post, Trump insisted to Raffensperger that he, rather than Biden, was the winner of the state’s votes. “All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state,” Trump said on the call, where White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Georgia Secretary of State office’s general counsel Ryan Germany, and various lawyers were all present.

It was so incredible, in fact, he isn't even vague about it. He spells out specifically the number of votes he wants, needs them to find. Completely blatant and yet more unprecedented, outrageous Presidency.

Carl Bernstein, one of the two Watergate reporters who helped effectively bring down Richard Nixon, put Trump's phone call, at least, into perspective.

Over 60 different lawsuits by his lawyers and legal team have all, all been thrown out, all across the nation, all for lack of evidence of vote fraud. He needs to give it up. We all know that. He lost. He needs to own it. He needs to do the right thing for the first time in his life. He needs to respect our vote, our votes, our election and Democracy.

All other Presidents, when voted out of office, respected the votes, the election, the process, the people, Democracy and nation.

Until now.

He needs to concede.

In closing, this is a thing.

The Insane, Bizarre, Ugly and Now Dangerous World Into Which This President and HIs Political Party Have Brought Us

I can honestly still not believe the things this Republican Party President keeps saying and doing. Now we're here:

2020 is the deadliest year in US history, with deaths expected to top 3 million for the first time

What the sorry excuse for "leadership" from this Republican Party President Trump and his political party has gotten us all, gotten the nation. Is it any wonder we wanted to vote him out and so badly? Thanks, Republicans. Thanks so very much. This man Trump and all he has wrought this last 4 years is on you, all on you---forever.  This last fact and statistic is the worst, of course, but it's followed by this beauty, too.

For the 40th consecutive week, Americans file more than a million claims for jobless benefits

Then this happened.

Trump Demands $2,000 Stimulus Checks, Imperiling Covid-19

Forget that these negotiations have been going on in Congress for months and that Americans are hurting. Millions of us are going hungry, millions more are already facing possible eviction from their homes and consequential homelessness. Oh, yeah, forget all that. Republicans and Democrats finally hammered out a deal to get assistance out to us all and this President, at the last minute, decides the checks--at $600 to us schmoes out here--aren't large enough and the threatens to veto the whole thing. Things you can be sure of just now because of this move by the Trumpster:
  1. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats are rightly overjoyed and loving this President's insanity
  2. Mitch McConnell and the Republicans are about to pull their hair out because of their own President's wildly contradicting excuse for "leadership" on COVID assistance issue and
  3. No one, no one still knows what goes on in Donald Trump's mind
Minutes ago, he, Trump, did this.

This took place 2 days ago.

Forget that we voted. Forget that more than 50 different judges and their courts found zero proof of vote fraud. Forget that all those lawsuits by this President Trump and his attorneys were all thrown out. Forget all that. They want to overturn our vote, our votes, our election.

Naturally, it's Donald Trump so it gets worse.

Of course, they won't think of it as "dictatorship." They'll say they're just trying to reseat the current President because he won this election. Which of course he didn't.

At this stage, we are 27 days from Joe Biden's inauguration.

It can't happen soon enough.

I so hope this doesn't get crazier.

Or uglier.

Thursday, December 17, 2020

Thanks, Mr. President! Thanks, Republicans!

That's quite the leadership you got going there.

Trump with Senate Republicans

US hits grim new daily record with 3,656 coronavirus deaths

This broke yesterday on CNN: US hits record breaking number of COVID cases 11 days in a row.

Seems this administration is one of the reliable carriers, too.

Interior secretary tests positive for COVID-19 after two days of meetings with officials: report

Not done there, oh no.

Weekly jobless claims rise to 885,000

Note that this next summary is from the very conservative, very business-friendly Business Insider, too

The GOP's 'outrageous' effort to overturn the election cements its status as 'a willing party to authoritarianism'

Authoritarianism, Fascism, let's not split hairs.

But hey, at least the Dow and the markets are up, huh?

Stocks rise to record highs on talk of COVID relief deal

At least Mitch McConnell and then Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue down in Georgia are going to be doing okay on their stock portfolios, right??

And again, this President Trump. What a guy. Always there to do the right thing at the right time, eh?

Trump cuts $200M in health care funds to California over abortions

Y'all are terrific.

Really.

The Damage Donald Is Now Doing to Our Democracy--and the Very Needed Backlash

I keep saying this and it's so true. I just can't believe where we are. I can hardly believe how low, how badly this Republican Party President Trump is dragging our nation.

In spite of his, Trump's, continued efforts to disavow, disregard and overturn our recent election, in which he lost, of course, and in spite of the Texas Attorney General getting some other states to go along with him, with them to try to do just that, overturn our election, there is a lot of press just now which is heartening and goes against all of that. Examples, starting from The Atlantic.

“In elections going forward, not trying to steal the election will be seen as RINO behavior.”

The Republican Party Is Now a Seditious Organization

These authoritarian yahoos believe that the Supreme Court will ride to their rescue and disenfranchise millions of people whom they don't believe should be allowed to vote anyway

These next two are out of Chicago. The first, the Sun-Times, the second, the Tribune, with thanks to both of them, for sure.

A critical mass of the party has adopted Trump’s disordered personality for its own.

The attorneys general of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia asked the Supreme Court to reject a lawsuit from Texas seeking to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s victories.

Everyone needs to understand this next point.

I think the St. Louis Post-Dispatch got this right, no overstatement.

There are two sane, responsible Republicans, anyway, speaking up and out on the subject of this President trying to overturn our election. Here's the first.

Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah said it would be "madness" for Republicans to protest the Electoral College vote set to certify President-elect Joe Biden's win.

Here's the second.

Other states are thankfully fighting the 17 states' attempt to overturn our election.

I could hardly believe this.

Sure, it's Donald Trump but THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES? Thought to be going to Russia??  To avoid prosecution??  Yet this is where we are. Insane.

Then there is the effect this is all having on Der Fuhrer.

Fortunately, with all the Republican Party insanity, there is this, reality.

Meanwhile, with no leadership from this Republican Party President on this killing pandemic, we have this.

So now, Republicans, we ask you, would you get your little temper tantrum over with and join back with the rest of hard-working, sensible, grounded in reality America, stop this nonsense and recognize, respect our vote, our votes, our election and Democracy?  Please? We have work to do.

This Republican Party President--and What He's Not Doing

So thi is where we stand now with this Republican Party President. He's fighting, still fighting to ignore our vote, our votes, our election and to deny our Democracy. But he's also doing this now, today.

Post image

Trump skipped a coronavirus meeting with G20 leaders to play golf

It's unreal.  I mean it is literally unreal. This guy keeps getting away with so much.

This, then, is what it boils down to now. This is what needs to happen.

Republican leaders swore an oath to defend the Constitution. That means telling Trump it’s over.

So how about it, Republicans? We're in the worst, most killing, deadly international pandemic in the last more than 100 years and this man, this president Trump of yours is clearly not doing his job. Worse, far worse, he's trying to ignore or deny our election.

We've had enough. Go. Talk to him. Tell him. It's over. We're done. We have to move on. For the nation's security, for our national security, we have to get this done. He's got to go. For once in his life, he has to be a mature, responsible adult and face the music, face this responsibility and reality.

Let's Call It What It Is: A Constitutional Crisis

So we had an election. We voted. We all voted. We know.

And now, the man we voted out isn't recognizing and won't recognize our vote, that vote, that election, our election.

Post image

He's denying the vote, the votes, he's denying us all. He's denying our Democracy.

What is that if not a Constitutional crisis?

We've all seen the headlines.

Donald Trump in denial over election defeat

And unfortunately, too many in that, his political party are going along with this absurdity, this insult to us all.

McConnell declines in floor speech to congratulate Biden

And of course, Fox is aiding and abetting this obscenity, this ugliness, even this stupidity.

The network is broadcasting the Trump campaign’s debunked conspiracy theories and unproven allegations to millions each night.

As it goes on, Trump has done more and more bizarre things.

Unfortunately, very unfortunately, if not also predictably, our own Senator Blunt even joined in on Trump's absurd claims. Because, you know, you HAVE to put your political party before the country, before the nation and before the people and even before what's right.  Right??

Nine days after having our election and all of us voting, there are some good indications and movements on this insanity. There are some beacons of hope.

Rep. Will Hurd of Texas tweeted that Trump's comments are "not only dangerous & wrong, it undermines the very foundation this nation was built upon."

Fortunately for the state of Georgia and all of us, really, there is this guy and anyone and everyone like him, standing up and doing what's right.

This is only one city but it's an excellent example of just what this President and his supporters have to show for their denying our election, votes and the results.

And I love this next one.

Even Fox, EVEN FOX, folks! is doing the right thing on this, at least in this one instance, anyway.

Also from Fox, this broke yesterday, thankfully.

U.S. Sen. James Lankford said there was “nothing wrong” with the idea of Biden receiving intelligence briefings

And it's not just this one Senator, either, that's calling for Biden to get intelligence briefings though Senator Lankford did, later, back off this original stand I read.

"Nothing wrong" with Biden receiving intelligence briefings. Nothing wrong and everything right about it.

Then, not just from Fox but from TUCKER CARLSON HIMSELF, two days ago, folks.

"At this stage, the fraud that we can confirm does not seem to be enough to alter the election result. We should be honest and tell you that..." he said, on his Fox News show "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

That alone is pretty incredible. That was followed by this. Even Karl Rove can read this writing on the wall.

Ohio's Mike Dewine spoke up yesterday, thank goodness, as all Republicans should.

Today, this broke. It does look as though the tide is finally, finally turning on this President's denial of our election and votes, thank goodness. It shouldn't have been necessary.

It's as I said before here, it's obvious why Trump wants, no, needs to deny our votes and election, too. According to the New York Times, he owes nearly, if not completely 1 billion dollars to who knows who out there in the world, New York State, at least, is going after him for his taxes in two different cases and then there's this.

And the above doesn't even address any and all possible investigations of wrongdoing and/or illegality/illegalites he may have committed while President.

It's as I said in Donald Trump's first year in office, he's in WAY over his head. He had no idea what he was getting into but now he's there and he doesn't want to deal with any of it, let alone all.

Then the Washington Post poses this unsurprising possibility.

Then there's this ugly trend, overall, from and by his political party.

Here's yet more of the enabling cowards that is the Republican Party.

This is one of the things that is most concerning about this entire situation, too, with Trump challenging, denying our votes and election.

Meanwhile, we have still no leadership whatever, of course, from this excuse for a President out of his White House or administration since he's paying far more attention to covering his hide and tracks.

US Coronavirus cases hit daily high, more than 140,000

Look at this fact that just broke today.

The most single-day COVID-19 deaths since May AND IT'S NOT EVEN WINTER YET.

So with all this, then, where are we? Where does this leave us? Besides the fact that this orange excuse for a President is shaping us into his own banana republic, where does this leave us now? And then, what do we do?

And here is where I say we have to stand up and speak up and speak out, all we can, especially to our Republican Party officeholders and tell them what we need, what we want. We need to tell them what, exactly, needs to happen next and that is, that this President and all in his political party must, at long last, recognize our vote, our votes, our election, our Democracy and demand he, Donald Trump, concede this election. We must demand it.

So with that, I post here, below, a link to go to so you can email and phone, both, preferably, your, our government representatives, to tell them this must happen and it needs to take place sooner, rather than later.  Today is not too soon.  Indeed, it is late in this process. It is very late.  Please contact your representatives. Maybe especially Missouri's own Senators Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley. Thank you in advance.

Two more links.  Let's be clear.

Then, once Trump is gone, a way forward?? Dare I say? Or even think? Hope?
