On "Anonymous" commenters and the cowardice they display
"...for the sweaty mobs of posters going incognito as they drop poison on others, they are simply gutless. Forums should put a yellow stripe beside their words." --Froma Harrop, The Real Problem with Online Anonymity; Link: http://www.nationofchange.org/real-problem-online-anonymity-1332077774

Hi MO. Naturally, this topic is of interest to me. I get bullied by anonymous commenters frequently on TKC. There's one person who even stalks me. I know him by his writing style. Naturally, he won't tell me his name. The standard advice is to ignore them. But, that isn't anymore possible than a juror whose told to disregard something that they've just heard. People can't really do that. I am becoming desensitized to it. But, is that really a good thing? Some people are kind. I try to focus on them.
It is the cowards commenters on Tony's blog that are some of the most cowardly and still more of them, ignorant and/or racist. It's really pitiful. I just stay away.
I'm rather proud that one rather famously-known, nationally-known group responds here, to my blog, with comments and further information but not over there. It seems clear it's not because of me but because of the ugliness of those same cowardly, ignorant, sometimes--too frequently--racist, anonymous commenters.
