Senator Roy Blunt: David Letterman's "Stooge of the Night"
As I said I would, here is the video from "The Late Show with David Letterman" and his "Stooge of the Night" segment:
And he deserves every second and every mention.

Missouri Senator Roy Blunt on "The Late Show With David Letterman"
Yessirree, Bob, none other than our own Missouri Senator Roy Blunt was on the best late-night talk show there is last night. The only trouble is--for the Senator, anyway--it wasn't in person and it wasn't good for him.
For those who don't know, Dave does a segment called "Stooge of the Night" wherein Dave lampoons the Senators who voted against the weapons background checks last month, even though their constituents poll solidly for it. The fact is, 85% of Missourians are for background checks but our Senator voted against them.
An example, in case you've never seen one and is, coincidentally, about next-door-neighbor in Arkansas' Senator John Boozman:
As soon as CBS posts it, I'll put it here, likely.
For now, here is a link to more "Stooge of the Night" segments:

Another Adele performance (on Letterman's show)
Adele's voice, her writing and lyrics and then the simple, beautiful, striking guitar.
Wow.
So simple.
So nice.
wow
The marriage of Adele's wonderful voice and fantastic, rich lyrics and song writing, with Dave Letterman's recording capability knocks me out.
Enjoy.

The week's best late-night jokes
"The Pentagon held a press-conference about the military operation in Libya. They're calling it 'Odyssey Dawn.' I believe it's the first military operation named after a stripper." --David Letterman
"House Speaker John Boehner says President Obama should have clearly outlined his exact plans before bombing Libya. Apparently it's only Iraq where you don't have to do that." --Jay Leno
"Odyssey Dawn? You're really going to name a combat operation after a 'Yes' album?" --Jon Stewart
"Odyssey Dawn? That's not a military operation. That's a Carnival Cruise ship." --Stephen Colbert
"It's the first military action ever to be named by Crabtree & Evelyn." --Conan O'Brien
"We're fighting three wars now. Imagine how many we'd be fighting if President Obama HADN'T won the Nobel Peace Prize!" --Jay Leno
There's wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya. You're heard the expression, 'theater of war'? This is a multiplex!" --David Letterman
"Sarah Palin visited Israel. As if the Jews haven't suffered enough." --Jay Leno
"If Bachmann and Palin get in, that's two bimbos. And then there's Mitt Romney, the millionaire and Newt Gingrich, a professor. We just need a skipper and a buddy and we've got 'Gilligan's Island.'" --Bill Maher
"Remember when President Obama said we can't fight two wars and vowed to change our policy? Well, he did. Now we're fighting THREE wars." --Jay Leno
"And aren't we out of money? You can't simultaneously fire teachers AND Tomahawk missiles." --Jon Stewart
Have a great weekend, y'all.

On giving advice
Robin Williams, to David Letterman on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on why he--Robin--shouldn't give advice to Charlie Sheen:
"Me? No! Me giving advice to an alcoholic would be like me giving a facial to a leper."
Have a great weekend, y'all...

The Chilean miners--up to now
One of the many terrific things that I've heard that developed out of the Chilean mine disaster, where the 33 miners have been trapped underground for 69 days is that they decided, while they were trapped down there, that, if they made it out and there was money to be made from their story, that they would split it evenly amongst all of them. I understand they insisted that they were to have an attorney there, to draw up the papers.
How cool is that?
That's terrific.
And Dave Letterman just announced that all 33 of the miners will be on his show next Tuesday night.
Wow.
The world and their lives will never be the same, for sure.
