Quote of the Day -- Thomas Jefferson

Happy birthday, Mr. President, born this day, 1743.
Thomas Jefferson
I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.

We can't say we weren't warned.  And we risk failure by not acting.

When he went to Paris, he took some of his black children with him. One of the Parisians took his black son aside & explained to him that there is no slavery in France. He didn't have to return to bondage. He could stay. He elected to return to America with his father. Land of the Free, but not if you were black, even if you were the Ambassador, & future President's son.

As you can see, I'm not a fan of Thomas "All men are created equal, but not my black son" Jefferson.

I don't worship the man but I think he was right on this point. That is, being aware and cautious of the wealthy and corporations pressuring, even taking over the government.
