Trans-Pacific Partnership: The biggest trade deal

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. By that standard, American trade policy is beyond insane. No other country runs trade deficits like ours, and ANY economist will tell you that trade deficits lead to budget deficits. So how come the supposed budget hawks on the right-wing never met a "free-trade" agreement they didn't like?

Things have gotten so bad that the United States had an $18 billion trade deficit with VIETNAM in 2013, a country whose minimum wage is $55 PER MONTH. How are American workers expected to compete with that? Does anyone REALLY think that the Vietnamese are going to turn around and buy American products? Fat chance!
