Could we put an end to that "War on Christmas" nonsense? Please?
Seriously.

I sure get tired of the people on Facebook ranting about "It's merry CHRISTmas" on and on and on, as though somebody is preventing them from saying it. It's still a free country, let them say merry Christmas if they want to and quit ranting about it. Sheesh.
Truly. It's so repetitive, first, and second, it's so unnecessary. I don't think anyone's stopping anyone from saying whatever they want or like but go figure.
Just to preface: I attend a Catholic Church, I voted for Bush twice, and I'm usually far more likely to watch FNC than The Daily Show...
...but THANK YOU for asking this question. I'm sick to death of the persecution complex so many people have about Christmas. Look, bigotry does exist, such as that person who nailed a skeleton with a Santa hat to a cross and put up the "exhibit" in public. But someone saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" doesn't constitute a "war" on anything. If people believe Christmas has become way too secular, fine. I can agree with that. But if you acknowledge that it IS a religious holiday, then you can't demand that people say "Merry Christmas" to people who might not be Christian.
