The New York Times Asks a Good and Important Question

In this weekend's New York Times Magazine, they not only ask a great question but then take it further and point out 5 features of this President's possible problems if not out and out crimes. First the question.

Can America Restore the Rule of Law Without Prosecuting Trump?

To which I think it's, first, important to answer that yes, we, America do need to restore the rule of law here in America and we need to at the very least investigate this President and what he's done and then, likely, very likely, yes, go forward with charges and for two reasons.

First, we need to make sure and clear that no one, no one is above the law and then, second, as the article says, we need to restore the rule of law here in America.  It's important we do this and it's very important we make sure nothing like Donald Trump, his presidency or administration ever, ever happen again.

And then? For what to investigate this man Trump?

This is the 2nd thing I think the article does clearly and importantly if not and out out beautifully. We examine Mr. Trump for

  • Possible financial crimes
  • Election law violations
  • Obstruction of justice, any and all
  • Public corruption
  • Partisan coercion

No small things.

Let's do this, America.

Our first priority has to be getting him out of office, of course, since he lost the election but this is second. This is an important, very important second priority. And let's be clear about this, too. This is not Democrat trying to punish Republican. This is about law-abiding citizens keeping everyone law-abiding.

What They're Saying On the Internet About This President and Our Coming Election

Literally, I saw this on Facebook two days ago.  What they're saying about this President Trump and the coming election. They may well have a point. Points. (Edited slightly and 2 comments added in parentheses). Author unknown.

Trump is getting increasingly desperate about his ever-dwindling chance of being reelected in November.

Why? Because he knows what awaits him if he loses his so-called "presidential immunity" which, by the way, in my humble opinion, should be abolished. When he becomes a "civilian," Trump knows that he faces endless litigation to attempt to defend himself in both the Districe of New York and the State of New Jersey for many very serious offenses. Some of these are:

  1. The 2016 Russian election attack
  2. His own election campaign's possible--likely? apparent?--collusion with Russia to get elected
  3. Wikileaks
  4. Middle Eastern influence (on the Trump administration I feel sure they mean)
  5. Paul Manafort’s activities
  6. The Trump Tower Moscow project
  7. Russia-Trump Campaign contacts
  8. Presidential obstruction of justice
  9. Campaign finance violations and Trump Organization finances
  10. Inauguration funding
  11. SuperPAC funding
  12. Foreign lobbying violations
  13. Russian spy Maria Butina
  14. Russian Internet Research Agency accountant Elena Alekseevna Khusyaynova
  15. Turkish influence (not certain what they mean here)
  16. Trump Organization tax fraud
  17. Trump Foundation fraud
  18. Violations of the emoluments clause
  19. Lawsuits from a VERY LONG list of unpaid creditors
I'm sure there will be an additional tsunami of litigation by grieving and very angry surviving family members of the tens of thousands of people who needlessly died as a result of the COVID-19 virus,  caused from Trump's endless excuses, disastrous mismanagement, his complete lack of leadership and his overwhelming criminal negligence in this disaster, which is obviously still ongoing and will be ongoing for long into the future.

Trump's insistence on "opening up the country," by HIS own twisted reasoning "to improve the economy," is an EXCUSE and a LIE. It's only for the purpose of promoting himself for one more four-year term of horror in the Oval Office, thereby allowing Trump to escape what awaits him if he loses reelection.

WE CANNOT ALLOW ONE MORE TRUMP TERM OF HORROR!

WE MUST VOTE HIM OUT IN NOVEMBER!

VOTE BLUE!

An Unfortunate, Sad But Ultimately Necessary and Even Proud Day

Yes sir and ma'am, I think today is all that--an unfortunate, necessary, sad but ultimately proud day for our nation, for us all. We are voting to impeach the President of our United States today, on two counts--one for abuse of power and the 2nd for obstruction of Congress.

Herein, simplified, are the reasons and evidence:
  • This President, Donald J Trump, asked the leader of a foreign nation to investigate a private American citizen and a citizen who just happened to be the son of his foremost political rival in the current campaign for the election for his very office.
  • The President took it further, however, and people from his own administration testified it was clear he and understood that he, President Trump, proposed to and was, in fact, withholding approximately 400 million dollars in Congressionally approved aid to Ukraine in their effort to wrest away from the Soviet Union.
  • Once this was all brought to light and the House of Representatives wanted to investigate these widespread and assumed allegations, the President blocked his own staff from his administration from responding to and answering subpoenas the House sent down.
Mr. Trump has insisted all along that the call of July 25 this year, wherein he and the leader of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky spoke was a "perfect call" and that he is completely innocent. In spite of that innocence, he blocked all from his administration from responding to those Congressional subpoenas.

If he is, in fact, so very innocent, why, then block these people's testimonies?

And when it comes to these current proceedings, the heck of it is, the impeachment hearings today on these two issues don't even begin to touch on the also-impeachable offence of this President virtually shattering the 25th Amendment of the Constitution, the Emoluments Clause, in his taking not just money but large amounts of it from foreign nations, no less, from his hotels in Washington, DC, Florida and elsewhere.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the right and true and just and correct thing is happening today.

Our own House of Representatives is voting to impeach Republican Party President Donald J Trump. And for only the third time in our nation's history.

As it ought.

God help and save the United States of America.

May justice be done.

I'm personally proud our nation includes a process wherein even the highest in the land are held accountable. That people in his own political party supporting him, because they don't want to lose political power in Washington and the nation, will go down in history as having been on the wrong side of justice and right and good and that very history.

This isn't about Democrats trying to undo the election of November 2016, not in any way.

None of us can be above the law.

Pretty YOOGE Trump Developments

Image result for stupid trump

I just saw these two today. First up:

Then this one:

I feel strongly Mr. Mueller and his investigation may already have Mr. Trump, legally.

The Donald is in way, way over his head.

I don't think he's bright enough to know or realize or accept it, either.
