Monday, Night 1

According to one of the panelists just now on PBS, Melania Trump doesn't want Donald to be president, either.

Suddenly I like her.

If he were any less informed someone would have to tell him how to breathe.

And Afghanistan.

For the Republicans, at this political party convention of theirs, to bemoan the shootings in our nation of late when they and their blinding support of guns and the NRA and their constant blocking of required background checks for mental stability and criminal history all got us to where we are is nearly maddening.

Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, bitching about not enough jobs in America. Not one Republican in Congress all the way back to 2008, ever wrote, proposed or tried to pass a jobs/infrastructure bill for those jobs, improved infrastructure and a rejuvenated economy.

Then he goes on to say "Donald Trump will kill Obama trade."

What?

He wants more jobs but then he wants to kill "Obama trade"?

What the hell is Obama trade?

What is that old fool rambling about?

If the Republicans didn't want the power and the White House back again, they would be embarrassed. Embarrassed by this candidate Donald Trump. And they would know they should be.

I hope the Democratic Party doesn't miss out on the opportunity to hear from an underwear model and their opinion on this campaign for the leader of the nation for at least the next 4 years.

I love that the Republican Party has put up two wealthy, white men for the top jobs in the nation.

Outstanding.

And one of them, for the presidency, owned and ran a company that stripped American companies of jobs and whole companies...

while the 2nd, the one for vice president is against government but has been a career politician for 14 years--virtually his entire adult life.

I also love, love, love that the head of the Republican Party, the Republican Party Chair, is named Reince Preibus.

But elitists?

Rich, white elitists?

Perish the thought.

Yo, Republicans. Hypocritical much?

Republican National Committee Very, Very Low on Cash

Since Michael Steele took over as chairman of the Republican National Committee, the party’s budgetary decisions have been the subject of widespread consternation, intensified by the fact that RNC fundraising has fallen far short of expectations.

These concerns have escalated in recent months, in light of expense reports pointing to unnecessary spending on private planes, limousines, catering, flowers, softball equipment, and an outing at lesbian-themed bondage nightclub.

A CNN report this afternoon will likely raise the anxiety levels among Republicans to new heights.

An internal Republican National Committee document obtained by CNN paints a damning picture of the committee’s financial standing compared to the past five election cycles.

The document, pulled together during a recent review sparked by concerns over RNC spending practices, said the committee had $12.5 million in cash on hand at the end of April.

By comparison, the average cash on hand at the end of April from 2002-2009 was $40.4 million. And that average includes the odd numbered years when there are fewer election contests.

And these are the people you want back in Washington, cutting spending?

First there was George W. Bush, Mr. "I'm Conservative" (but not really), who boosted spending and debt absurdly, wrecked the economy with his Ayn Rand "let's not regulate business" nonsense, now this.

You're heard about this, right? It seems the Republicans just recently spent almost $2,000.00 of RNC (Republican National Committee) money "for expenses at this bondage-themed strip club where topless female dancers are reported to simulate sex acts, act out S&M scenes and dangle from the ceiling."

Man, I love these hypocrites.

Of course, after the fact, they're going to see to it the money is paid back and they're firing the staffer that okayed it but hey, the damage is done, boys.

It turns out, the $2,000.00 isn't the least of it.

"Entertainment- and travel-related costs aren't, however, unique to Republicans. Both the RNC and its Democratic counterpart, the Democratic National Committee, sometimes spend lavishly on travel, catering, resorts and hotel accommodations."

And the Washington insiders--of both parties--wonder why there's such an uproar in the country and why we're calling out for turning all these people out and starting all over again.

Hear that, Bill O'Reilly? Rush? Mr. Beck?

From "The Progress Report":

"Paul Krugman writes today that, 'right-wing extremism is being systematically fed by the conservative media and political establishment.' He argues, 'Fox News and the RNC...have gone out of their way to provide a platform for conspiracy theories and apocalyptic rhetoric, just as they did the last time a Democrat held the White House.'"

And people are dying because of it.

To wit: In November last year, a minister was shot and killed just outside his church in Kentucky; yet another pastor was killed during his Sunday service, right in his church in Illinois in early March; Dr. George Tiller was killed in his church in Wichita and just yesterday, of course, a US Park police officer, one Stephen T. Johns, was killed at, of all places, the national Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.

Let's hope this is the end of these killings and not just the beginning.

It keeps getting better and better

I keep seeing more and more about the failing and failed Republicans and how, right now, it seems so clear that Rush "Porkulus" Limbaugh is their de-facto leader.

It kills me--in a good way.

You have to smile, really big, if not laugh out loud at that current situation.

Rush Limbaugh, the brains of the Republican Party.

Ya-hoo!

It hardly gets any better than that.

Then, a new Republican National Committee Chairman, Michael "I swear I'm not a racial token" Steele tries to put Porkulus in his place and has to go back, the next day, hat in hand to apologize to him for saying he was "incendiary" and just an "entertainer".

Imagine that--having to apologize for saying what's both obvious AND true.

That would have to kill you.

Anyway, the more I see of it, the happier I am and the better it gets.

Then another thought struck me--another source of amusement and laughter:

You know it's gotta' be killing Bill "O'Really?" O'Reilly since he's not in the equation an virtually being ignored.


I tell you, it just keeps getting better and better.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The RNC just pulled off one the most funny, sad, pathetic, desperate, pitiful and/or cynical act they possibly could.

Today, they elected, on their sixth vote--it took them 6 tries--their first ever African-American leader of their organization (the Republican National Committee).

Hearing that, you have to just bust out laughing.

Did you see this group last summer, at their national convention?

Or again, did you see the audience at Senator John McCain's concession speech, the night of the election last November?

Both groups, one very large, one large enough, were almost completely, totally lily-white.

Not only that, if a poll were taken, it would very likely be shown to be at least middle class, and a great deal of them upper middle class.

So we got an African-American from the Democratic Party as President so the Republicans threw the American public--and the world--a desperate, pathetic, political bone, way after the fact, of another African-American, in an effort to make themselves look, however ridiculously and disingenuously, like an inclusinve, multi-race party.

We all know better.

I salute the new Chairman, Michael Steele's, ability to take advantage of this situation, betray his people and exploit this opportunity so totally and utterly.

Opportunism never looked so good.

In an effort to prove that the Republican Party is a group of equal-opportunity haters, they created this video, too, so they could show they aren't just racist against African-Americans but Mexicans and Hispanics, too.

It seems it's being defended just now, all this time later, by the guy, Chip Saltsman, who is trying to be the head of the Republican National Committee.

Instead of condemning this ugliness and calling it what it is, instead he's defending it.

Truly unbelievable.

You would think he would "cover his ass", completely and totally here, and, wisely call this the racism that it is, admit it should never have been made and go on with his hopes for the Republican election.

But no.

Not only did he not "let it die", so to speak, get this--it's even worse--he sent it out to people FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS.

You can't write stuff wackier than this.

And do you know why, ladies and gentlemen?

Because the Republican Party really is, more often than not, a political party of racists.

They created this ugly, racist video.

And now they're defending it.

And they wonder why they're out of power and why we don't want them to run our country.
