"Trickle Down" Economic Policy

Taking from the poor, giving to the already-wealthy, literally.

Mark Sandlin's photo.

Doesn't seem very "Christian", does it?

As the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. so rightly said:

"A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom."

And perhaps approaching more than just spiritual doom, too, actually.

The Kansas ATM restrictions are a typical government overreaction. Yes, welfare recipients shouldn't be getting tattoos or going on cruises--if you can afford that, you don't need welfare, you're more than likely cheating the system somehow. Withdrawing money at a strip club should trigger an investigation. If the investigation finds you are using welfare money for strippers, tattoos or cruises, you should probably lose your benefits.

I would likely want to see stricter welfare benefits. If people are misusing, those people should be dealt with. Using government regulations to make things needlessly difficult and adding expense for those who are following the rules and not misusing isn't the way to fix the problem.

...whether we are talking about welfare or gun rights.
