Remember Newtown?

Think about it.

If 20 children, 20 beautiful children and 6 adults, being gunned down in a few minutes years ago in Newtown, Connecticut wasn't enough to get America to wake up, pay attention and make changes to gun legislation so these mass shootings don't repeatedly happen, why would adults being gunned down, anywhere else, let alone Las Vegas, make any difference?

Let's speak up. 

Finally.

At long last.

Let's get something done.

Let's change things, America.

Let's be better than this. Finally.

Breaking: Baton Rouge Shooter From Kansas City

Here's some sick, unfortunate news on top of the ugliness and tragedy and stupidity of the shooting of the police officers in Baton Rouge today.

The shooter? Reported to be a Kansas City, Missouri resident.

Dammit.

Update on gunman at the Pentagon

Reportedly (and with documentation, thank you), the "Pentagon shooter" yesterday was apparently a Right-wing, anti-government terrorist.

First, let me just say, this isn't my claim so don't attack me.

Second, I think it's important to point out that he was clearly anti-government if, again, the person who shot the security guards and then died is the same guy who had the blog with the same name. That guy railed against the government.

Third, I don't think calling him a terrorist is a big stretch since he did, in fact, shoot the guards.

The only thing left open to question, then, is the "Right-wing" accusation and that seems well documented here.

If this is true--and it seems as though it is--then "Right-wing gun nut" seems justified.

This should make Fox "News", with all their absurd, irresponsible reporting, vitriole and hyperbole quite proud. They're getting more and more results for their work at pumping people up and dividing the American people.

Question/proposal/challenge for Fox "News": No chance you guys will quit all that stupid ugliness and just truly report unbiased news, is there?

Nah, I thought not.

Oh, look--he didn't need a gun

I just saw this headline and story:

"Teacher tackles gunman supected in school shooting"

As soon as I read it, I had to laugh, internally.

Upon checking it out, I found that some 32 year old chucklehead in Littleton, Colorado--not far from Columbine, it should be noted--was going through a high school's parking lot, shooting students at the end of their school day.

He had already wounded two and was reloading when this teacher, one David Benke, tackled the gunman and shut him down.

The story reported the shooter "...has an arrest record in Colorado dating back to 1996 for menacing, assault, domestic violence and driving under the influence, and he is believed to have a history of mental issues."

Another case that, maybe, possibly, if we had to register all weapons in the country, this shooting might not have happened. I doubt it but it could be.

Also, thank goodness he had a bolt action rifle and not a stupidly, sadly legal semi-automatic or he could wreaked far more damage, far faster, and possibly/likely killed students and/or teachers.

But yes, I had to laugh.

Just think, Mr. Benke stopped a gunman, a shooter, and to do it, he didn't need a gun himself.

Imagine that.
