Rand Paul, in his own words

Rand Paul is an uninformed buffoon, let there be no doubt. He is also patently dangerous if he is to be considered a leader in this country, much like Sarah Palin. His take on mountaintop removal: Paul believes mountaintop removal just needs a little rebranding. "I think they should name it something better," he says. "The top ends up flatter, but we're not talking about Mount Everest. We're talking about these little knobby hills that are everywhere out here. And I've seen the reclaimed lands. One of them is 800 acres, with a sports complex on it, elk roaming, covered in grass." Most people, he continues, "would say the land is of enhanced value, because now you can build on it." Go to Google, click "images" and search "mountaintop removal." See for yourself. Quote of the day--on solitude, nature, clear thinking and what's truly important

"It is in solitude, contemplation and a connection with nature that we transcend the frenzied and desperate existence imposed upon us by the distortions of a commodity culture." --Chris Hedges Link to original article, well worth reading: http://www.alternet.org/environment/147431/hedges:_a_needed_antidote_to_the_worst_of_commodity_culture/

2 Contentions

I have 2 contentions about this planet and humankind that I believe are unequivocal in their truth:

The first is that the most devastating and negtive influence on the planet to the same planet Earth is man or humankind.

The second is that the most negative influence on the planet, its ecosystem and balance and because of this, our own situation, is the monopolization of land and so, wealth.
