Must-See Articles on this President

Post image

Yes, here are some, what I would call "must-see" articles on this President that broke in the last day or two.

First, letters to the Editor at The New York Times:

“The case can be made that, among industrialized countries, the United States has had the worst overall response,” a reader writes.

And that writer isn't just any writer out there but a microbiologist, formerly with the Environmental Protection Agency. And that's just the first letter.

Then there is this:

Even Ann Coulter, uber Right Wing and conservative, very Republican Party Ann Coulter, of all people is not just against Donald J Trump but publicly calls him an idiot.

What's not to love about that?

And not just Ann Coulter but more Republicans are irritated by Mr. Trump.

Next up, in response to his assertion that his power as President, is absolute:

Seems he didn't want to tell each and every state governor what to do individually on "stay at home" orders but now that we're considering taking them off, Mr. Trump suddenly thought he should, in fact, be able to tell all 50 states' governors if they should or should not take off those same orders.

Like it both ways much?

Next is this. One of my favorite things during this nightmare of a Trump Presidency is when even Fox shuts him down.

Finally, at least today, is this on this President's Attorney General William Barr.

Could this administration get more corrupt?

To which I answer, I don't think so---but they keep surprising us, don't they?

So there you have it. A brief summary of, again, what I've seen to be some of the most important articles out in the last few days.

With Republican Party groups organizing against this President and even the likes of Ann Coulter and Fox coming down, and hard, at times, on him, well, it's enough to give me hope.

Wish us all luck, campers.

Whole sections of the world seem a lot brighter than the good old US

A few notes from the news in the last 24 hours:

First, Ann "the man" Coulter was told she couldn't be coming up to Canada to give a speech at Ottawa University and spew hate speech because they have laws against it.

Wow. How refreshing is that?

Imagine--rules against hate speech. One step further--enforceable rules on hate speech.

Then, as an additional bonus, it turns out 2,000 Canadians came 'round to rather vehemently demonstrate against her.

Who said Canadians are sissies?

So check this out---Ms. (Mr.?) Coulter cancelled her trip and speech.

Score one for the right thing happening.

Love those Canadians.

Second, according to the After Downing Street blog, "A journalist tried to arrest Tony Blair for 'crimes against peace' as the former prime minister arrived to give a speech at the European Parliament in Brussels."

Again, how cool is that? Someone standing up for justice in the world, even if it was just a symbolic gesture.

It seems the reporter attempted to make a citizen's arrest, right there on the street.

It wasn't successful, of course (unfortunately) but the article went on, "As Mr Cronin was pushed away on Monday, he shouted 'Mr Blair, you are guilty of war crimes' referring to the Iraq invasion."

Wouldn't it be great if this happened here in the States, to the person who's really responsible for the debacle and crime known as the current Iraq War, Former President George W. Bush?

For that matter, with Former Vice President Dick Cheney and/or Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld?

One last good thing that's happening in this regard is the ongoing investigation in the British government as to what happened, when and by whom, prior to the start of the Iraq War.

It seems the British have enough guts , intelligence and determination to see what happened in their government at the time and to see if it was all legal and proper. (Oh, and the Dutch also have enough fortitude to calmly and fairly see what happened in their government before the start of this stupid, misbegotten war, too).

Some terrific, strong examples of how Europe and Canada, at least, seem to have far more, again, intelligence, courage and determination in running their respective countries.

Don't accuse me of saying this isn't a good place, the US.

I'm just saying we could make some pretty significant improvements.

We need the Fairness Doctrine badly, folks

I'm telling you, after the video I saw and posted yesterday, of Governor Rick Perry of Texas, saying they want and need to buck Washington and their power and efforts, I'm more concerned than ever about where we're headed as a nation.

That little exercise of his yesterday has brought out some of the most ugly and divisive comments on the internet and I'm concerned where this is taking us.

Instead of still and always thinking of ourselves as Americans and being cohesive, we're getting more and more divided as "us vs. them", no matter who the "us" or "them" is.

And Fox News and Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter and Larry Kudlow are taking us there and it's really negative and damaging to the country.

It's dangerous, folks.

We're splintering ourselves into millions of tiny, militant, angry groups, who just want to "get even."

And we need to stop it.
