That Trump Statue at CPAC?

Really, CPAC. What were you all thinking? Who thought this was a good idea?
The DNC should ask if they can borrow that statue of Trump from CPAC this weekend. How anyone thinks that's remotely flattering, I can't imagine. It looks for all the world like a huge, ugly, mocking insult. Turns out, too, it was---wait for it--made in Mexico. I tell you, what isn't to loathe of the Right Wingers and Republicans is to love. For the comedic, ironic, hypocritical values. Incredible. Stunning they never get this. It's also been said it is, naturally, for sale already, too. For a mere $100,000, one can purchase it. i can't imagine anyone with that much money wanting it."The Onion" can't write stuff this good.

Quote of the Day -- Outrageously Ironic and Hypocritical Edition

Post image

The height of irony. The height of hypocrisy. I can't believe what I hear, most every day from this man. Here's another.

"You put the wrong person in office, you'll see things that you would not have believed are possible."

--President Donald J Trump

Wow.

Freaking wow.

Thanks, Republicans.

Coincidentally, Race Riots From 1921 to Today--But of a Different Sort

Someone no doubt needs to inform this President and all those who say there is no racism or need for any protests of the significance of this date, as just one more example.

On The 99th Anniversary Of The Tulsa Race Massacre, America Still Has A Long Way To Go

On this day, June 1, 1921, Tulsa's prosperous black community was destroyed in what became known as the Tulsa race riot.

"Known as the 'Black Wall Street,' and the nation's wealthiest African-American neighborhood, the Greenwood district of Tulsa, OK, is attacked by gangs of marauding whites. When the Tulsa race riot ends, 35 city blocks have been burned, 800 are injured, upwards of 300 are dead, and 10,000 left homeless."

From the founding of our nation, through 1921 to today.

Let's do better, America.

Much better.

Irony Much?

Hypocrisy much?

Photo of a protester, wanting a "stay-at-home" order be taken off.

That's about as delicious as the ice cream they serve in the store just behind her.

Be well out there, y'all. Stay safe. Stay at home.

Republican Party Song of the Day, Week, Month, Decade. Century?

That these Republicans today are outraged, OUTRAGED! at the treatment of this, their party's nominee for the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court, this Brett Kavanaugh, in these hearings when they didn't even allow---remember that--didn't even ALLOW hearings for the previous President's pick for the court is the epitome of chutzpah, irony and hypocrisy, all.

I thought Trump gaining the White House would be the worst that could and would happen.

I was wrong.

So deeply wrong.

How's This For Irony, Kansas City?

Last evening, there was a local protest against the racism and ugliness and ignorance and even stupidity of the Charlottesville, Virginia protests and murder. There were lots of them, city to city, across the nation.

What was ironic about ours, you might ask?

Stand Against Hate
Sunday 5 PM · JC Nichols Memorial Fountain · Kansas City
Shared to People Power KC

It was held at a public fountain honoring a well-known racist.

A person significantly, personally, publicly and professionally responsible for the segregation of our city that lasts and still exists and divides us and keeps people down right to today.

Quote of the Week

From Facebook.

"...let's get this straight. A rabidly anti-gay congressman with ties to the KKK, who recently voted to let mentally ill people have access to guns and who wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act, had his life saved by a Black Lesbian law enforcement officer and another Black cop, when he was shot by a mentally ill person, and is currently under hospital care that is being paid for by government-funded health insurance.

There's a lot of irony here. (and hypocrisy).

Is it too much to ask and hope that Republicans see it?"
