Why Senator Sanders Is Right For America

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders

It's not just that Senator Sanders stands for things and stands for the right things and isn't taking money from the big PACs, though those are all big factors in his campaign.

It's that he stands for so many RIGHT things and that he stands for the people and that he's his "own man."  His views set him so apart, so simply but clearly, distinctly and strongly apart from ALL THE OTHER candidates in this presidential race and that it's basically the same stances he has taken FOR YEARS.

It's clear he's for us. It's clear he's been for us, for the people, for years.

Finally, it's clear he's genuine. It's very clear he's the "real deal."

As president, he wouldn't be and won't be "perfect" and solve all the nations ills, no more than our current president has or did.

But he's the right man for the job and with a Democratic Congress, a lot of our intrinsic problems in the nation, in and of our government, could and would be addressed, repaired and changed for the better.

Two notes on KCMO news today

First note:  The Star and Steve Kraske report that, reputedly, mayoral candidate Deb Herman "used off-color nicknames years ago"?  Supposedly, she called a Hispanic officer "Captain Taco"?

Okay, I don't know Deb Hermann and I don't know if she did or did not say such a thing and I'm certainly not condoning that kind of speech but I can tell you this, if this makes it impossible for people to run for public political office, the list of people who will be able to run for office is going to be incredibly short, even before you get to the ones who even want to run.

Second and final note:  That the City Planning Commission would vote down, by a vote of 3 to 2, the Polsinelli Shughart Law Firm building, proposed to be built on the Plaza is fairly stunning.  Those people reworked their plan what?  2 or 3 times, in order to get it at least better if not "right"?

The last thing I thought anyone downtown would do is vote against business interests.

The last thing this city needs to be seen as is "anti-business".

I also thought that's the last thing anyone on that commission would want to be seen as, too.

How are we supposed to take Tea Party members seriously?

Here's one more example, in too long a line of examples, of an out of control Tea Party candidate, this time threatening a reporter in public. Seriously, how is this guy supposed to be taken seriously? He isn't even in office yet and he's threatening people. Sharon Angle, in Nevada, denies things she's already said not knowing the original is on video, Christine O'Donnell lies about her past and education AND says she dabbled in witchcraft, literally. I repeat--how are we supposed to take these people seriously? Link to original post: http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20100930/el_yblog_upshot/ny-gov-candidate-threatens-to-take-out-reporter

Quote of the day--on Roy Blunt

“Congressman Blunt’s 14 year Washington record of waste, corruption and sticking it to the middle class has proven he is the very worst of Washington. Why Republicans would want the ultimate Washington insider Congressman Blunt at the top of the ticket is beyond us, but it certainly will make our jobs easier for the November election.” --Ryan Hobart, Missouri Democratic Party Spokesman, in reponse to Michelle Bachmann's visit on behalf of Roy Blunt. ---So true. Thank you, Missouri GOP for this gift that is Roy Blunt
