Vote Republican?

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, text that says '"I fight unions very hard. ...I like right to work better" Donald Trump Facebook.com/Pro Labor Alliance Inc. Any union member who thinks this guy will "Make America Great Again" is not paying attention. This PIG will rape and pillage this country like he has all other businesses he is involved in. Don't be fooled by his EMPTY rhetoric.'

Why any working class, middle- or lower-class schlub out here would vote for this guy is beyond me.

But then this is also true for anyone in the middle- or lower-classes voting Republican.

As the saying goes, there are two kinds of Republicans--

The rich, the millionaires and billionaires...

and the suckers.

If you vote Republican, check which one you are.

Missouri Republicans: It's Class Warfare, All Right

There is a terrific article out just now at Daily Kos on our own state of Missouri and the Republicans' fight for "Right to Work" laws.

Not only are their efforts unfair to the point of obscene, working to cut the wages of working Missourians, but if they get this, it will hurt Black Missourians and their paychecks even harder.

What “right-to-work” in Missouri means for black workers

A little from the article:

The passage of a so-called “right-to-work” (RTW) law in Missouri would hurt black workers the most, according to two new fact sheets by EPI’s Valerie Wilson and Julia Wolfe. As Wilson explains, “Contrary to how the phrase sounds, these [RTW] laws actually restrict the rights of workers by cutting the financial support going to unions, thus limiting the ability of unions to help workers bargain for better wages, benefits, and working conditions.” The authors find that black Missourians would be disproportionately harmed by RTW, as they are more likely to be covered by a union contract than other workers. The authors also find that wages of black workers in Missouri and other non-RTW states tend to be higher than wages of black workers in RTW states.
As Warren Buffett so famously and rightly said, "There's class warfare, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning."

Thanks, as ever, Republicans!

All you are is consistent.

Wouldn't it be great if, one day, and one day soon, very soon, the articles on Missouri and Kansas could and would be positive and for the people instead of what we've been getting for the last at least 10 years or so?

Wouldn't that be nice?

Most Americans Don't Know the Origins of Labor Day

And we should. We should know how we got here in this country. We shouldn't and don't want to go backward.

The Pullman Strike of 1894 not only gave the US a national holiday, it also legitimized unionism and defined the modern labor movement

An Insightful Article, Dealing With Kansas City's Own Now-Gone Twinkies Plant

Remember Kansas City's Twinkies plant? The Hostess plant?

Twinkies Halloween Candy

Sure you do.

And remember how, just before it closed and was sold off, the owners said it wasn't profitable because of the Unions and because of the workers' demands?

Yeah, well, bullshit.

How the Twinkie Made the Superrich

Even Richer

Here's your "class warfare" for you, folks. And I can tell you, the "upper class" is winning.

Again.

Some more.

If anyone, anyone is in the middle- or lower-class and against Unions, they're at least mistaken. Wildly mistaken.

If not stupid.

Walmart, Stiffing Chinese Workers, Too

From today's New York Times.

It seems Walmart's penchant for paying people low wages while demanding long hours is international.

Walmart employees in China, furious over low pay and exhausting schedules, have organized nationwide strikes and boycotts at some of the retail giant’s 400 stores.

Much of the discontent stems from a new scheduling system that Walmart put in place this summer as a way, the company said, of giving workers more flexibility. Workers have argued that it has resulted in cuts to overtime pay and excessively long shifts, and some say they were coerced into signing new contracts agreeing to the system....

When Walmart opened its first store in China in 1996, workers rushed to snap up jobs that paid more than those at Chinese competitors.

Now, some employees say, a Walmart job does not pay enough to comfortably support a family, with wages hovering around minimum wage, or about $300 a month. While Walmart has led a high-profile campaign in the United States to raise pay, salaries in China have remained largely stagnant, workers said, barely keeping pace with inflation.

These folks down in Bentonville must love being able to pay employees $300 per month rather than, say, that amount per week as they would in the states, huh?

It seems union organizing is on the rise in China.

Fantastic.

They are getting what they deserve, Walmart. Just not quickly enough.

The Labor History Americans Forget

The Labor Union struggles and fights that brought us to where we are today. Here's one of them. The companies and corporations don't have the people in mind, not even their own needed employees.

Entertainment Overnight -- Labor Day

Hope you had a great Labor Day and weekend.

Labor Day, 2015

What Workers Never Get From Republican Officeholders

Want to see what the average worker in America no way gets from any Republican member of Congress or, God forbid, resident in the White House. This:

Barack Obama

Obama observes Labor Day, extends contractors' paid leave

WASHINGTON (AP) — Showing solidarity with workers on Labor Day, President Barack Obama will sign an executive order Monday requiring paid sick leave for employees of federal contractors, including 300,000 who currently receive none.

These things that support workers and the working class and middle and lower classes, they never come from Republicans anymore. They haven't come from Republicans in the last 100 years.

Keep that in mind come any election day.
