Bill Moyers asks a great question
It is:
"Ten years ago this week, the United States started a war that would last for eight years, claiming an estimated 189,000 lives, costing over $2 trillion and causing untold economic and emotional devastation for the Iraqi people. Is there a “conspiracy of silence” over the anniversary of our invasion of Iraq?"
As pointed out in the link below: ""Big media’s culpability in the run-up to the war was explored in a documentary that originally aired onBill Moyers Journal in 2007. Dear Mr. Kevin: Yes, Moyers is right--the nation's political class wants to forget about the disaster they caused in Iraq. History will be quite tough on George Bush--but I think that the people who come out looking worst from this disaster are not Bush and his advisors but all of the Democrats and liberals who did not believe in the war but endorsed the invasion because they were afraid of being accused of being "soft on terrorism." Bush et al can at least claim that they did what they thought was right--all of his "enablers" in the Democratic Party and the media have no such excuse. Take care. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans
But Ernest, the Democrats and Liberals and anyone and everyone else who voted for the 2nd Iraq War of George W. Bush's and Vice President Dick Cheney's can also rightly, truthfully say that information was at least misrepresented to them, too, at the time, if not wholly and utterly fabricated. In short, Ernest, they were lied to and they can honestly say that's what happened. Information was given to make it look as though we needed this arbitrary, illegal war.
