Good news this morning:
War-weary lawmakers send Obama a message
WASHINGTON – War-weary Republicans and Democrats on
Thursday sent the strongest message yet to President Barack Obama to end
the war in Afghanistan as the commander in chief decides how many U.S.
troops to withdraw this summer.
Fortunately, this proved less partisan than so many things out of Washington lately: Twenty-six Republicans joined 178 Democrats in backing the Afghanistan measure.
Besides keeping our soldiers in harm's way, did you know we--the US--is "spending $10 billion a month on the war"?
After more than 10 years? Yes, I'd say the soldiers and the country are all ready for this to be over, absolutely.
