Facebook? In your car?

Listening to KCUR/NPR yesterday, I heard a story about technology in cars and drivers being distracted, etc.

From what they said, OnStar is considering making it possible to update your Facebook status through their service.

Right.

Anyone else think this might be insane?

And if not insane, how about totally unnecessary?

  1. If they can do a voice to text feature, it would be a safer alternative? Whatev. I'm convinced the next generation will only communicate in emoticons and acronyms.

  2. I agree (on next generation communication). But it's "next generation" now and those will only continue to get shorter and shorter, too.

As long as we all know what we're saying, I guess, right?

  3. And actually, on the NPR story, it showed data that even voice-activated technology distracts, causing accidents.
