Interestingly though, this is one thing I agree with Maher on. America is getting dumber and dumber. Which makes it hard to explain why we should keep making the government responsible for more and more of our lives.
We are idiots, electing more idiots to tell us what to do. We are trusting imbeciles with our health, jobs, education and retirement -- our very futures.

So yeah, based on that, Maher is correct.
