Somehow prison is less harmful than even heroin? <br /><br />If an adult is taking whatever drugs privately without endangering others it shouldn't be up to the government to enforce the morals of busybodies. If you aren't willing to legalize drugs and other victimless crimes, you've got no moral right to complain about high prison populations. There is no way that using even heroin is worse than prison--and even if it is, one is a voluntary choice, the other is forced. <br /><br />And just so there is no confusion, we do have way too many people in prison, and I don't want to do drugs myself. <br /><br />The reason Utah is authorizing a return to firing squads is that the typical drugs used in lethal injection are made in Europe who refuses to allow them to be sold for executions. I'm in general against the death penalty, with the exception of someone already serving an effective life sentence who commits another serious violent felony.
