Excellent news out of Jefferson City!


EXCELLENT NEWS!   AND FOR THE PEOPLE!

State Senator Rob Schaaf (R-St. Joseph) has officially introduced a statewide Anti-Corruption Act!

Outstanding! And from a Republican! Who'da' thunk it?

And from my own hometown, no less!

Now, here's hoping it passes!

  1. Citizen-funded elections--that generally means "freeze out competition from third parties", usually matching funds for parties with over some percentage of the vote--effectively the Big 2. Being stuck with only two choices is one of the major problems with American politics.

  2. That's certainly true in the US, but it needn't be that way. While demanding we end campaign contributions so we can end the legal graft and bribery, we need to also demand there be a chance for 3rd parties.

    Granted, it's a long shot--a long, long shot--but we can try. We have to to try. We need to demand it all.
